The original drummer of the Bee Gees, has died aged just 78.

A key figure in the band’s early years, Petersen played a crucial role in shaping the sound that propelled the Bee Gees to global fame.

During his time with the group, Colin contributed to iconic hits like "Massachusetts," "To Love Somebody," and "Words," as well as their early groundbreaking albums, including Bee Gees’ 1st.

RIP Colin.

I must admit I didn’t know the name however Massachusetts was number 1 the week I was born.
I going to assume he had a good life. RIP

From memory he was always set up at the front of the group which is unusual for a drummer?

Not unusual in TOTP type set-ups, which were often fully or mostly mimed. The Dave Clarke Five spring to mind. The Honeycombs and the Animals too.
