Well. Make of that what you will. Netanyahu has apparently ordered planes for a ‘rescue’ mission to be sent to Amsterdam (not sure what is wrong with the flights already booked?). There are also claims that Dutch Police ignored pleas for assistance from Tel Aviv fans.

Seems that some people bit off a bit more than they could chew.

Israel don’t even recognise the authority of the UN - they certainly wouldn’t invite them in to what they consider as part of Israel

UN going in to Gaza at a Palestinian request would also be a tacit recognition by the UN of Palestine being a sovereign nation which wouldn’t be acceptable to the US or the UK since they have repeatedly vetoed that recognition at the UN Assembly/sSecurity Council.

Also, UN peacekeeping forces are exactly that - they aren’t deployed in a war zone but there may be a role for them in a Peace Settlement that recognises Gaza transitioning to an independent Palestine - I think we are well away from that at the moment - A Trump Presidency is more likely to support the opposition to a 2 state solution.

Finally, Israel doesn’t even allow the UN in to monitor and gather evidence of war crimes, they ignore the ICJ rulings regarding genocide, ignore UN conventions on other international war crimes, they will not be party to anything the UN proposes or a UN peace keeping force imo.
