Our starting 11 and subs in the 3-0 defeat at the Vitality in April was :

Verbruggen
Barco , Igor, Dunk, Offiah (Veltman 74')
Gilmour Gross
S. Adingra (Enciso 66) , Pedro (Baleba 88) , Buonanotte
O’Mahony
(Welbeck 46')
I know both Gilmour and Gross (rightly so) are loved on here, but that centre midfield sends me shivers. The upgrade in that position this season is huge.

Not convinced by Gruda at all so far.

Adingra has 4 goals in 10 matches in all comps (plus an assist), he's being written off unfairly by others on this thread!

It’s far too early to have an opinion either way on Grudu, he hasn’t even played an hour of first team football yet. There are some glimpses that he could be very decent tho, but I think he needs work to understand how we play etc which is quite normal for someone young/new to the squad. I don’t think I’d be starting him yet tho.

I also don’t get people writing off Adingra. He might not have hit the levels we know he’s capable of this season but he’s still contributed and if he reaches the form he showed some of last season then he’s a very useful player for us.

While I agree Gruda has not achieved much yet, but I'm actually the opposite about the other part... through his ball handling, confidence and pace I'm convinced he is a VERY good player... like, one of our best. I would be surprised if he's not one of the first players on the team sheet by the end of this season.

Adingra is a good player. I'll trust the manager to make the right call.

If (hopefully) we don't lose anymore players to injury this week/weekend then IMO it will be Soton at home when Fab will have his first real selection headache.

I think he's learnt that the players away on other continents need more time. So he could well rest Pervis, Mitoma, Adinga and Ensico from the starting line up this Saturday. If Dunk is fit then he 'might' also rest JPvH given the Xmas schedule is close.

If the rest are fit then:

Bart
Velts Dunk Igor Ferdi
Hinch Baleba O'Riley
Rutter Welbeck Pedro

Mitoma etc to come off the bench as needed

Erm we had baleba but didn’t play him last season much. And I would have gross and gilmour above hinsh and Ayari

I might take Groß OR Gilmour, over Hinshelwood OR Ayari - but the latter pair (or better still one of those with Baleba) are just a more effective, more dynamic partnership.

Right, break over (thank goodness). Getting trickier for Fab with returning injuries………

Bart
Veltman JPVH Igor Pervis
Adingra Baleba O’Riley Mitoma
Joao Pedro
Welbz

Harsh on Rutter maybe (may start instead of Joao Pedro and run himself ragged for an hour perhaps), and Dunk if he’s fit but Igor has been decent. Suppose Joao or Rutter could play wide and both start with Adingra on the bench

No
