We had our first snowfall of the season in Austria last night. Although we had some snow at village level (700m), everything below 1,000m had melted by lunchtime, but the top of the local mountain is still white. It's going to be cold for the next week, with more significant snow in 5 or 6 days.
Only bad news is that all local golf courses are now closed.

It does seem so. I just mowed my lawn. Will I be doing it again in December like last year. Probably.

Aye….its growing more now than May imo ….end of month no more mowing no matter what …i give grass a rest and my mowers need a clean and service ..mind i do sometimes regret this policy at some places come March when that part of the business cranks up again

The ECMWF currently forecast very cold weather for November, next Weds to Sat. For reference 8.5c is the mean maxima in January/February, 12c November’s mean maxima.

That suggests to me that on Thur, there's a 60% chance of heavy flumpage. I'm going to be freezing walking the dog & the wind is going to make it extra cold?
Edit... I don't have any memories of it snowing in November down here in the last 30 years, am I wrong?

The entire southern half of England is forecast to see zero snow.
Unlike, rare in any era for mid November, some lucky others. Headteachers, teachers and kids will be salivating at the prospect of closures.
