[Technology] Has anybody come off of Twitter / X? How easy did you find it?

I've got 3 or 4 Twitter accounts but only use 1 actively - a Fulham one - and another to look at comments about University Challenge.
My work sector has virtually stopped using it & moved to LinkedIn.

I have one account that I use very rarely to check out a thread for work matters.
I took my agency off twitter before Musk took over as we couldn’t see any commercial benefit.
I deleted my personal account when Musk took over. It had already become a cesspit, and I don’t miss it at all.
I came off Facebook in 2012 when I realised it was using me as the product.
Sadly, I have to engage with Meta via WhatsApp and I do have an account with Instagram for work research.
I weened myself off Insta when I realised how much I was doom scrolling.
Leaving the platforms behind has been so much better for me.
Now, I’m just addicted to chatting to the bellends on here!

Just thought I’d mention it.
I'm staying on Twitter, partly because it was hard work putting out content that resulted in 125k followers, but also because it is useful for work purposes in terms of commissioned work on the back of Tweets as well as reading some good content at times. Have set up a BlueSky account too, will wait to see if the content makes the stay there worthwhile.
However, having been bombarded by the platform to pay for the privilege of a blue tick (for £119.99 for a year) I won't be renewing as it turns out the cash benefits suggested through people interacting with your cotent turns out to be a Ponzi scheme. You effectively only get paid if other blue tick users interact, rather than the broader community.
In general I'm uncomfortable with the illiberal liberals who are offended first, cancel second and think, if ever, third. Engagement with people whose views you don't share, and at times can't stand, is not the same as endorsement, but they don't seem to think that way, which is a shame. Don't care much for Musk's rantings and ramblings, but I don't follow him so can be ignored. I'm more pissed off about him changing the algorithm for AI purposes so that he potentially gets richer off my specialist knowledge and research.

If it’s a case of getting paid for interactions with other blue-tick users, then the official albion account must make a very tidy sum from the Chelsea blue-tick wankers that seem to infest nearly every post. It’s just a shame it makes it so tedious for the rest of us.

But surely the sole reason for leaving Twatter is because it’s become politically toxic and then the first thing he announces in this new paradise is he’s politically liberal, why brings politics into it at all
It must be a millennial thingI suspect most people actually have no problem with people having different views. It's rarely a such problem in real life after all. I think people are not moving to bluesky because they want to be surrounded by like-minded people, they are moving because they are sick of the toxicity and abusive nature of many of the interactions on twitter. The free speech brigade seem to be only really interested in the freedom to offend. Regardless of where you stand on that topic, it's a certain type of person that wants to stay in that kind of environment.
Having said that, I also don't really understand the view that it's some kind of weakness to want to associate with people who share the same views. It's human nature. Nobody on twitter ever changes their point of view, engagement is largely pointless, so why stick around with a load of people who think you're an idiot?
