Question re trains - perhaps for @jackalbion
It's been mentioned it is the reduced carriage trains which are the main cause of the train issues for midweek games due to commuter requirements, so does Friday evening still count as midweek? Or will Southern be able to put on extra carriages after the Soton match? I assume that once the peak on Friday night is over the carriages then go into 'weekend mode'? Heres hoping anyway!!

it's still a weekday service, no spare coaches or drivers.

Not quite true, I don’t know the full service for Friday, but there is a reduced number of peak trains on a Friday (based upon passenger numbers, the 06.42 and return from Portslade to London Bridge for Example) so there are a few less services and reduced carriage lengths which leads to some spare, but there hasn’t been a game on a Friday yet so I’m unsure what runs.

So there’s 8 carriages for starters. Just find a driver and time it to depart Falmer at 22:10 to Brighton, bulk of the queue gone. Jobs a good un!

You could even use these 8 carriages for Tues/Weds nights after the match
It runs ecs back from Littlehampton to Lovers Walk. Maybe run to HH after Preston Park, then to Lewes (Newhaven if you must). Gets another 8 car thru Falmer.

When was the last time that we played on a Friday night at home? Championship fixture maybe?

We’ve played a few Friday night PL games at the Amex. The most recent was against Palace in Jan 2022 (1-1 draw).

Burnley (0-0) in November 2020 but that was when no fans were attending games. West Ham (1-0 win) in Oct 2018 and Man United (1-0 win) in our first PL season were all Friday nights too.
