Normally at that age you would just thnk they had a good innings but it has an added poignancy and sadness because of Pru.

He first came to my attention as Edward Vii in the 1975 TV series

Lovely bloke. Great actor. We were lucky enough to see him on stage years ago at the Nuffield theatre in Southampton in something about a station master or a signalman?
but one of the bits I read about him seemed just to major on Coronation Street and Eastenders, which I found sad.
and feeling for Prunella at the moment, as are others on here.

their son, Sam, is a fine actor too.

He was a superb audiobook narrator. I’ve listened to about 8 Trollope novels he did (Barchester Chronicles etc). Brilliantly performed.

I think Samuel, another fine actor, will make sure his Mum is well taken care of. A lovely, talented family.
