This is 'the best'

This is my favourite (drummer) (today)

It was only when I saw him live that I realized I was in the company of genius. Peel described the ending of one Hatfields track Peel session as the sound of someone throwing a drumkit down the stairs.

And an honourable mention for this wonderment

Maybe not the best ever but this reminded me i watched this the other week. Performance starts about 4mins in with Copeland saying he plays the song different every single time.

Drumeo is a fantastic YouTube channel with really interesting interviews and features. They often do a challenge where a drummer hears a song for the first time ever without the drums in and they have to come up with their idea for the drums.

Also has my favourite drum interview with II from Sleep Token, a fantastic drummer who cites gospel, RnB and metal drummers as influencing his style.

Having seen Sepultura on Tuesday I also have to say Greyson Nekrutman is a fantastic drummer.

Steve Gadd on "50 ways to leave your lover". Takes popular music drumming to another level.

Still the same answer as post 41, 9 years ago. And his other famous Paul Simon rhythm

Although Brighton's finest is pretty good on this

And even Lewes can knock out a good drummer

Phil Collins used to get loads of stick for whatever reasons, but fack me that bloke knows how to hit a drum.
Underated drummer, his drumming on Down and out is incredible.

Neil Peart on pretty much every song for me.
