[Albion] Uni v Bridge parking - Saints game

I've booked Uni parking for the Saints game on the 29th, ordinarily I would have used the Bridge though (but none were available earlier today).

So in the learned opinion of NSC, which is better for getting into or out of? Also, any tips for the Uni (where not to park etc) as I've not used that one before.

Thanks all!

You'll be out by Sunday, have no fear.

It’s a shambles, stewards seem to change tactics every match, can’t really recommend any car perk over another, although we tend to avoid the big one at the top if the smaller one is full we go all the way round to the multi story at the back.
Getting out is a lottery depending on what the stewards fancy doing on any given day, there is no apparent plan or system.

Go early, park near to top of C... head out from the game at 90 dead.... dont hang about, shoot over the Falmer road bridge, get to the car and you should be back over and heading east or west up the a27 in no time...I have never had a long wait...

If you hang about to clap players off etc, you can end up waiting.....

Depends. If you can get out quick and leg it to the Uni I’d say it has the advantage over the Bridge. However I’ve only parked in the bridge car park a handful of times. Each time it has felt worse than the Uni car park but I know others have found it not so bad.

Precisely this. It’s a clusterfuck and appallingly managed. Again and again and again. Club has no interest in improving. Contractors have no interest either. If anything, it’s a cost saving to be had. Get rid of all the stewards. Utterly useless and pointless having them. Couldn’t be any worse without them and leaving to a free for all.

I'd choose the Uni over the Bridge every time, and we always do if there's a choice.

Because of our time of arrival - generally c1 hour before kick-off, we are always directed to the big car park at the top of the site. In there, we head to the very furthest corner from the side we enter, as that seems to give the best chance of a relatively less-slow exit.

Interesting. I'm prepared to wait in the stadium for 30 mins post game as will,be with mates. Incidentally, what's the best walking route back to the car after?

I think the top car park is the only one for non 1901/disabled now no matter when you get there.

My tip is get there early, park as close to the top as you can, leave a couple of minutes before the end, walk briskly and you are straight out. I walk via the underpass and through the uni.

Need to leave it an hour or you'll still be in a lengthy queue.

Thing is I don't want to leave before the end (and will have a couple of passengers in the away end too) so we'll just have to wait. Any advance on the hour post match wait? The Bridge doesn't usually seem to be that long.

I use the club parking for every game now for the past two seasons, and always choose the Uni over the Bridge if at all possible. I always stay to the end of the game and clap the players off before ambling back to the car.

In that context, with the Bridge you are pretty much guaranteed sitting still for 30 to 45 mins feeling like there is no hope in sight. With the Uni if you park in the area that Bozza mentioned above, you are at least generally moving in the right direction, albeit slowly, so you feel like you're making progress to the exit. I would say probably on average I am out of the Uni car park within 20 to 30 mins of getting in the car.

I don’t think there’s a quick way, unless you are prepared to leave well before the whistle. It’s very random how they let you out and changes all the time. I don’t think there’s a way to beat the system.

Fingers crossed either Pyecombe or EDF ( Friday night game might be able to use it) p&r will operate as either in the mercy of Southern or the parking shambles. Really puts a dampener on the experience

Yep - agree with @Greavsey above - we never leave early, clap the players off and then head back over the bridge, under the underpass and up to the car park.

As he says - it generally feels as though you are moving, in stark contrast to The Bridge, which frustrates the hell out of me.

The Bridge is so bad that we've recently made a pact that if we are losing badly with five to go, we'll make a dash for it, and I'm not one to leave before the end of a game ordinarily.

Thanks for this - I was thinking the Uni may be worse than the Bridge, but views seems to be it's at least no worse, but can be better.
