I thought they were singing "Is this the Etihad" ie seems like a home match. Which I thought a bit rich as I don't rate the atmosphere at the Etihad at all. Last time I was there I heard nothing from the City fans until near the end. But OK, might have been the Emirates. Maybe both.
You are correct they were singing 'is this the etihad', everyone around me was commenting on how strange it was and we are at the away fans end of the ground.

Anyone got pictures of this?
Surely with the number of TV cameras at games these days there must be footage of this. Whoever finds it and posts it will go viral.

I’m also curious as to how it came about: it was a load of people doing it. Whoever it was take a bow.

My season ticket is in WSU and there is a lot of joining-in when the NS gets its act together. We can hear the NSK under the police box better, but not-so-much the mob under the screen (if only the two could link-up). For cup games I usually buy a ticket in the NS and I am always surprised that you can't hear the WSU singing along; this is due to a combination of acoustics and the fact that the simultaneous singing gets nullified to ears in the NS.
It's also so low. A load of the sound will just drift over the NS.

Brighton factually.....
Probably one of the best atmospheres for a Premier League game at the Amex, everyone was in dreamland in the North stand, what I loved is that towards the last few minutes I looked around and it seemed the whole ground, north, west, and east were all standing willing the team over the line, just electric.

I could be wrong, but at one point in a lull I swear the East stand started a chorus of Albion before the north, I nearly spilt my Bovril.

Adore how these threads always descend into East and West (lower) ticket holders whinging about not being able to hear our fans. Are you not them? Could you not open your mouths to do something other than groan when we miss a shot?

We were sensational on and off the pitch last night. Just beautiful. With love from N1A x
A bit like when the North Stand fans say that the East (typically the family stand cops it) and West don't sign. It's bullshit.

But part of it is the acoustics - I thought the north WAS quiet for the first half (I also thought the City fans were pretty shite throughout), but others will say different. Not that I'm really bothered - sing if you want, don't if you don't want to.

I think we can all agree is was noisy for most of the second half, though.

Great atmosphere and a pleasingly large amount of people still three at the end for Free From Desire. It was a cracking night.
Indeed. Watching on the TV it was great to see that with five minutes to go it wasn't the usual half-empty ground. And not only was it full it appeared to be absolutely buzzing. As you say even after the final whistle (which was after nearly 10 MINUTES added time) it looked like the vast majority had stayed.

Amidst it all the mayhem at the final whistle I was actually taken aback by that.

Think it's Hurstpierpoint actually (or Wickham Hill to be more precise).
To be very precise, I believe his house is before the Hurstpierpoint sign, so I don't think he can claim to live in Hurst. (Hassocks it is then :))
