If we are serious gravy we need a squad that can compete in the league, the domestic cups and Europe.

If Citeh can start an EPL match with six world class internationals on the bench every game, so can we.

We can't rock up for knock out stage European football with our knickers round our ankles (half our squad knackered. injured or heads gone) again.

We are bound to have one or two silly boys who expect to start every match, and sulk when they don't, but that's football.

We don't have to 'ship out' half the squad so we can just have a 'best eleven' and a few subs. We are not in the Championship any more.

At his best he’s a valuable squad member getting plenty of game time. Some short memories on here
I don’t think it’s a case of short memories, more we have kicked on as a club and he has stood still. Not all his fault as obviously the injury is a big part of that.

Since that season when he scored those great goals we have added Pedro, Rutter, Adingra, Minteh and Gruda. He's just so far down the pecking order now.

The time out has killed him….he’s trying way too hard. Such a talent

Sometimes it really smacks you round the face how far we've come.

Imagine reading that after losing to 9-man Walsall.

I’m not sure what to currently make of him to be honest.

He has some excellent performances behind him but in the two and a half years he’s been with us these seem fleeting and some time ago now. His decision making isn’t the best/doesn’t seem to pass the ball when there’s better placed colleagues and often chases the ball like a schoolboy. After all the coaching he’s received from us he still seems quite raw in some respects. Where he currently fits in I’m not sure.

My bet is a loan and a sale to off load him as opposed to making a huge profit.

I think he is a very stylish player, he will adapt with the passing, we should keep him in my opinion, he has some useful experience now ( domestic and international )and will be very handy when injury and suspension starts rearing its head as the season progresses.

If I had to bet I reckon he will be sold in the Summer for 25-35m to someone like Fulham, West Ham, etc.

People will be apopltic on here about that not being enough money but then he'll carry on being a bit part player.

His strength was his individuality it possibly is also a threat to his progress when everything is now about being coached and the team. He needs to adjust a bit but not too much i.e. don't try to beat 4 players by dribbling understand when to pass and when shoot. Some will say he should have learnt that by now , possibly, but he is still young and lost a lot of time due to injury which must be playing on him especially when he sees the players we brought in.

I wholeheartedly agree with these sentiments. Hopefully, the club will now be well aware of the need to have strength in depth in our squad if we're successfully to compete in Europe in future.

Astounding how far we've come in so short a time that so many of these South American wunderkind are now farmed out to direct competitors or relegated to bit-part squad members. Strange daze indeed

I think he needs to play for a team whereby his quality means that he is the first name in the team sheet every week. I somehow doubt that that is the level of club thst Enciso is expecting to leave for.

His development will be much better if he starts every week leading a team that depends on him rather than setting his sights on the likes of Chelsea (who must surely be favourites to sign him?)

Top post. Also, you fight on a few fronts, you need more players. Time to hold our nerve? He can always leave if we don't make Europe.
