That was something else, particularly second half, The Amex was absolutely rocking

Verbruggen 8 -- some cracking saves first half, great on the ball
Veltman 7 -- solid as ever
JPVH 9 -- enjoyed his scrap with the beast, and was immense
Igor 9.5 -- utterly brilliant today, and has been near these levels for a fair few games
Estupinan 8 -- very good
Ayari 5 -- probably his poorest performance this season, in which he's been a revelation
Hinshelwood 8 -- what a player, his appreciation of space and game management are something else for his age, Fabian loves him, fingers crossed he will be in the squad against Bournemouth
Adingra 5 -- unable to make an impact
Rutter 6 -- a little bit overwhelmed today but, even when that's the case, his work rate, velcro hold-up play and persistence shine through
Mitoma 7 -- so graceful, great for the first, made Walker look as though he's no longer so dominant
Welbeck 7 -- so intelligent, led the line well

Baleba 10 MotM -- turned the game, utterly bossed it. Even if Rodri was in his pomp, Carlos would have still dominated it
Joao Pedro 9 -- can't argue with a goal and an assist
O'Riley 8 -- delighted for our new dynamo, the ghosting into the box, that first touch and then the finish
Gruda 6 -- not much came off for him
Moder n/a

FH 10 -- brilliant game plan. Kept them largely at bay in the first half, and then went for them second when their energy levels were low. One thing he could have done better in previous matches is to make earlier substitutions, and he did that in spades today. We had the momentum after the break and each change he made just cranked things up a further notch.

Agree with pretty much all of yours, apart from Baleba gets a 12. And Fab gets a 9 simply because why the hell did Moder come on at left wing and keep passing it back to them!

Pretty much spot on imo. Recognising some stand out performances and a few anonymous ones.
Baleba‘s physicality changed everything. Trying to think of a previous substitution that has changed the dynamic of a match that much.…
Also a word on Mitoma - I know we may take it for granted now…but his first touch and control of the football , when on the move. It’s something else.

Great scores @Machiavelli
Can’t argue with any of them, though 5 may be generous for Adingra…..

Apparently 9 touches in the first half and lost the ball on 5 of them (so I’m told).
Think he did a really good job of marking Nunes (who isn't all that). I liked the way we did that given that they weren't playing with an orthodox LB. FH really knows what he's doing.

Verbruggen 9 - Some important saves. Unlucky with Haaland's goal

Veltman 7 - Decent game
JP 9 - Kept the Viking quiet
Igor 9 - A run of games has done him good
Estupinian 8 - Supported Mitoma well, pushed forward too

Ayari 5 - Quiet today, not his best
Hinshelwood 8 - Solid again. Nice passes, and some good tackles. Hope his injury isn't too bad!
Adingra 4 - Not at the races today sadly. But he did make some good runs.
Mitoma 7 - Worked hard. His first touch is sublime. Did very well against Walker

Rutter 6 - Quiet game by his standards. Worked hard as usual
Welbeck 8 - Led the line superbly... pushed forward and dropped back when needed

SUBS
Baleba 10 - Changed the game. Unplayable. What a player.
Pedro 9 - Goal and assist. That'll do. Welcome back!
O'Rielly 8 - Looks a player. Lovely finish. So pleased for him
Gruda 7 - Worked hard, but didn't achieve much.
Moder n/a - Not on for long enough

Thought he was awful and any 50/50 he bottled…..😃
Our second half performance was like the first half at Liverpool….

Magnificent. Agree re - FH…..

My feelings were similar. If I was being totally objective, my changes would be:

Adingra would be lower, maybe a 4. I don’t think he did a lot right, to be honest. The right hand side is a big weakness for us at the moment and I don’t personally see him as the solution there.

Hinsh would be a 7 (score lowered for the absolute sitter that he missed).

Mitoma would be a 6 as I thought he both looked threatening but utterly flattered to deceive, making the wrong decision or finishing poorly when in some great positions.

Georgino would be a 5 or 6. I’m glad I saw him play well against Wolves as he’s totally flattered to deceive otherwise for me. He was poor again today, often getting bullied off the ball. He missed his one glorious chance and failed to execute a 5 yard ball in behind that would’ve put Welbeck (I think) in.

There were some genuinely fantastic performances though - Igor, Bart, JPVH, Pedro, Estupinian (after the first 20 mins), O’Reilly and, of course, Baleba who was unplayable.

Forgotten Georginio's game-winning display against Spuds?

Think that’s harsh. We don’t beat Newcastle away if it wasn’t for him, or spurs at home. He’s been probably the best of our summer signings so far. I never expect the world from our signings in their first season anyway. They’re almost always better in their second year (see Baleba)

I'd say you got it pretty much spot on.
What a day! Jnr slept the whole way back in the car. I think the emotion of it all got to him.

Verbruggan 7 Apart from one very poor pass good
Veltman 6 Feared the worst when Got roaste a couple of times in 1st half then wide player didnt get a look i
JP 8 After tough 1st half outstanding in 2nd
Igor 8 Same as JP
Estupinion 7 Some poor distribution in 1st half but little wrong in 2nd
Ayari 3 I dont know if it was early booking but so poor I was hoping Baleba came on after 25mins
Hinsh 4 Not strong enough for defensive role he seemed to be playing
Adringer 3 Contributed very little
Rutter 6 Seemed a bit overwelmed
Welbeck 6 Did well against a good defense
Mitoma 7 Not at his best but always you want to have ball upfront. Fantastic first touch

Dont usually mark subs but
Baleba 9 made all the difference
Pedro 7 So skillfull and hard to mark
O Riley 7 Always felt missing a box to box play who gets in penalty area Could be the man

I didn’t watch the game away at Newcastle as I don’t go to many anway games now, and was away on holiday for the Spurs game.

So you may think it’s harsh, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’ve only seen him play above a 6/10 once for us, and that was against Wolves, where he was excellent.

Sorry I see your point now. You meant from the games you’ve seen live. Got it. Apologies 👍
