Running a 2019 1.3 petrol and had an intermittent amber warning light ( the little engine icon). The car drives just fine with no obvious issues.

However, just had car serviced and obviously mentioned to garage. They reported that fault code that popped up was P023A-29/P0234-67 Turbo electric water pump. They cleared the code and said to monitor and check the car back in if the amber warning popped up again. Lo and behold it's popped up again next day and been on and off since.

I've now been quoted £340 for parts and labour. Does this seem OK? Garage is a local independent who I've used before with no issues

Many thanks for any observations

Ask them how much they are charging for the part and how much for labour, look up the part online to see if its a fair price (they will obviously add a markup), labour costs vary from garage to garage but generally you'll be looking at £50-70 an hour.

That seems reasonable to me as well but nothing stopping you from ringing round and getting a couple of other quotes, I always get at least 3 quotes for any work I have done. If you fancy a laugh ring your local Nissan dealer.

Thank you. I managed to chat to an old mechanic mate ( sadly lives oop north ) who it was about right. By all accounts it's a lot about the labour as not the easiest job on a Nissan. As you suggest Nissan dealer would have taken the piss
