My tomatoes aren't growing at all, they arent getting enough sun/warmth to get growing.

They are San Marzano ones.

my Spinach has gone mad though. I might harvest it this weekend and freeze it to use it when the basil grows.

In previous years, we've already planted our tomatoes, peppers and chillies outside by now, but this year, they are still indoors on the window-sill.

We did put the tomatoes outside yesterday during the day to start 'hardening' them up, but by late afternoon, they looked as if they were dying, presumably because the breeze was too cold for them.

My tomatoes are still indoors on the window sill (the few that could be bothered to germinate).

Bloody pigeons have eaten all my spinach and broccoli.

Toms still in the greenhouse, Spinach went ballistic ( 6' tall) sky rats eating broadbeans and other stuff too. .

I have a net that is around my planter so no animals can get in luckily

My tomato plants are outside. Some have a few flowers, but very behind compared compared to previous years. I do have a south facing patio, which helps.

likewise no fruit yet, strawberries late, and everything else is behind as well

They have the benefit of a sheltered sun trap, but my toms have been outside for over a month and are thriving

I'm a bit confused. I grew a jalapeño chilli this year. It started off slow but late in the summer it flourished (outside but sheltered). It now has flowers and small chillies.

How do I prune this for over-wintering (if at all)? And how do I over-winter it?

I assume these nascent chillies won't develop now.

Chillis can survive outdoors if the winter is mild. These ones are in my porch and the survival rate was around 50% from the previous year. If you have a window ledge indoors big enough that would prevent any chance of frost.

I wouldn't worry about pruning now, they tend to die back over winter and then it is just a case of pruning the dead branches in spring.

Chillis thrive with a weekly feed of tomato food in the growing season. I have stopped feeding mine now, as I can't see us running out any time soon.

Thank you. Those are amazing. I have a big window sill in my studio, so I'll go for that. I'll reduce watering too and prune in the spring.
