Interesting to see the Rayo Vallecano friendly has prices for P&R at £3 per person, that's for walk ups too.

Could be an indicator of future charges. That's not too harsh if the travel subsidy does get withdrawn.

Still harsh to charge. We pay for this don't forget, regardless of if we use it. As someone who already drives 100 miles each way for a game because the train service is stressful, and third world quality in terms of reliability, the "free" park and ride is a nice touch. To charge for it would make me seriously consider what is already a huge outlay, as petrol + ticket works out at about £78 a game already without any of the other day out expenses considered.

If it was a case of just get the train to every game, that immediately rules out midweeks, 7pm+ evening KOs, and tbh most Sunday games and I personally would bin off my ST and just go once or twice a year instead.

It’s not a league game so you’re not paying for it……

Friendlies have always been outside of the travel subsidy ? The train service has always been not free for them.

this is really setting the hares racing. There’s been charges for transport to friendlies and cup games since the Amex opened. And although it’s being reviewed (it’s been tweaked several times since introduced) - i doubt the year zero option - “it’s gets withdrawn” is on the cards or that this friendly is an indicator of anything really.

Was taking it as a possible indication of the price *IF* the travel subsidy was withdrawn. Thought it was mildly interesting and of note given all the wild speculation previously in this thread, that’s all. No hares being raced by me.

Of course but the club haven't floated this - just a suggestion that the travel scheme is being reviewed. (not ditched !!)

This survey is part of the travel review they announced in February

>>>>
No changes will be made for next season, 2023/24, but the club are considering options for the 2024/25 season onwards.

The club's board of directors and executive team, in conjunction with the Fan Advisory Board, are planning to review the matchday travel scheme, which has been in operation since the Amex opened in 2011.

No changes will be made for next season, 2023/24, but the club are considering options for the 2024/25 season onwards, with the following objectives:

  • To investigate if there is a fairer model with better choice for fans, currently there is a 'one-size-fits-all' approach and some fans benefit more than others
  • To continue to liaise with third-party providers and the local authority (as we do proactively and continuously) to investigate improvements for fans
  • To review current legislation, which can be restrictive, and see if red tape can be removed to make it easier and more cost effective for the club and fans
  • To review costs for the club, which have increased considerably, particularly in the past year, and where possible remove those which are unnecessary or ineffective
  • Improve operational efficiencies and investigate if better use of data and technology can help improve the overall service and reduce club’s costs

So what’s driving the review?
Compared to most stadia we have one of the most effective transport arrangements and one which is included in the cost of the ticket. Under current legislation we are obliged to provide this.

Our costs — over which the club has no control — have increased across the board and continue to do so, with the cost per person much higher than ever envisaged.

Nonetheless we continue to receive regular feedback, positive and negative, direct to the club about travel. Ultimately we want a better service and fairer deal for the club and our fans.

What are the next steps?
At the moment, there is no need for supporters to do anything.

In mid-March we will email all season-ticket holders, MyAlbion+ members and match-ticket purchasers with a travel survey, this will allow you to give us your opinion on the current scheme.

Please ensure your contact details are up to date so we can be in touch with you. Supporters are politely asked not to email the club directly offering feedback, ahead of receiving this survey.
Any news?

Dont kid yourself this survey was for the benefit of supporters. PB mentioned several times cost of running a transport scheme have increased
The club really don't want to know about the answers to the travel survey. Because then they'd maybe have to act on them, rather than turn a blind eye to the massive shortcomings. Transport crap is the one thing that renders the Amex near enough not fit for purpose
