Saving up for a new camera now as my auto focus and dynamic range are shit, i keep missing out on good pics because I can't focus or speed up my shutter speed enough. - Any recommendations for a next step camera - I am currently looking at the Canon R7, R10 or RS.
Can't go wrong with Canon or Nikon being the main players, but there are other interesting cameras by other manufacturers including Fuji and Panasonic.
The models you suggest (although I'm a Nikon person), will all serve you well. I assume you've budgeted for lenses too?
My friend has just borrowed one of these from Fuji. It wouldn't suit everyone as it only has a 23mm lens, but is light, compact and apparently, the "cat's pyjamas"!
I'm thinking of getting one to replace my little Panasonic "Point & shoot".

I love it.

That Fuji is an ideal camera to just pop in the pocket, particularly good for street and travel photography. Unfortuntely, because various Tik-Tokers (sp?) promoted that line heavily a couple of years ago, they are pretty costly and in high demand. I would certainly buy one if I had a spare thousand or so laying around.

Some from Sardinia, Olympus OMD EM1 mk2 (bought second hand 3 weeks ago £325) using second hand Panasonic 100-300mm ( effective focal length 200-600) .

Even with a big zoom pictures are heavily cropped and so pushing the smallish 20mb sensor...

I have budgeted for a lens but also a converter to use the ones I have for the time being. I am thinking get the body sorted and the add lenses as I go.

I am feeling very limited by the auto focus and dynamic range on my current camera (Eos 3000d) and have missed some wildlife shots (blurred, due to slow shutter speed due to not being able to push the isothat I think I would have got with a better set up.

This is an example

I do like the look of the fujis (and they look amazing) but might stick to Canon for the time being. I guess it depends on if there are any bargains around when I actually have the money.

Edit: actually on reflection it may be user error for this one. it is l likely that I could have pushed the iso a little higher to give me a fast enough shutter speed to counteract the motion blur. I'll check the settings tomorrow.

I tend to leave my cameras on ISO auto, unless I'm doing night shots. Have you tried trusting the auto?

Yes I have but ended upwith really grainy pictures that needed fixing after. Was advised to keep my iso under 800. Which it doesn't often do when in auto.

Another reason for the new camera 😀

This thread opens like a 90s dial up session. Or is that just me?

This one is magnificent. The light makes it amazing.
Thanks. Really unusual to find Wastwater so still so late in the day - these screes are in shadow for most of the time, only getting lit up in the mid-late afternoon, by which time the surface of lakes is usually disturbed by air and people. It was pretty wonderful to be there. This was just as the sun was beginning to touch the screes - and if I didn't have to get the works car back to the office, I'd have stayed for ages!
