Yes Bmuff are a very good side, and have recruited well, they may also have one of the best managers in the league. I thought they had overtaken us on the field last season and I was laughed at by many on here. After our spending spree in the summer I think we've edged past them again. But will be interesting to see who finishes above who.
think you were right to say that last season and am not surprised by the reaction you got.At the moment and looking at the way they play and their form I think we will struggle to get anything when we play them.
I hope I’m wrong but we will see

I’d have liked it more if we hadn’t thrown away 5 points in the last two games

Considering our first 10 have included Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs, Newcastle & Liverpool, only two of which were at home, I think we’ve done very well to be where we are.
A difficult first 11 games, with City next next followed by what should be a slightly easier run of games.
Whilst we have missed opportunities we have also won games by very narrow margins where we could have drawn or lost them. Newcastle, Man United and Spurs.
So, all in all, relatively happy with where we are.

Exactly. All fans are very one-eyed when looking at results and always focus on 'the ones that got away'. Yes we should have beaten Wolves and Ipswich, but on the other side of the coin we got the rub of the green against Man U and Newcastle. So we could be 3rd - but we could also be 12th or even 15th.

These things tend to balance themselves out, and ten games is a good reference point. So yes, 'we are where we are' and it's probably a fair reflection.
There is also a strong case to say that the current league table reveals each club's true standing in top flight football in England, give or take a place or 2.

Generally really happy. New manager, several new players finding their feet, loads of injuries (again) so I think we have to be happy.

The only frustration to me is the two home draws against the two teams who have yet to win a match (out main achilles heal).

Yes agree with this. My concerns are that we have not really invested in the defence (shame Barco was loaned out etc) as we are vulnerable in this department , especially when injuries come around. However, I think we are seeing the shaping of a top class team playing some brilliant football and capable of winning a cup but will it last with our policy of selling on our better players ?

Play to their strengths which is working for them. May not be the prettiest football but I think they'll last the course and challenge for top 6
They do indeed it’s not easy on the eye but is still just as effective. Does seem dependant on wood staying fit and in form, I think some stats yesterday show he has 8 of there 12 goals which is the highest % of goals from one player for a team in any of the top 5 leagues at 66.66%. If those goals dry up not sure who else will step up. They will be solid at the back still

I’m not sure you’re aware how this works so let me explain…

Any points we’ve picked up: entirely just and fair.

Games where we feel we could have got more: we woz robbed, guv.

Hope this helps.
Ref is an absolute scumbag unless he isn’t

I would have settled for 11 after 11 given new manager, lots of new peoples and playing top 6 and Newcastle in those fixtures. So 16 points looks a good return. Wolves was nightmare loss of two points and Ipswich frustrating but balanced with getting more than perhaps should have done against Man U, Newcastle and Spurs.

Don't see it mentioned much on NSC, but the big concern for me is 14 GA despite 3 clean sheets; only 8 (admittedly including Villa) teams conceded more. Top 6 will be a struggle with bottom 10 performance in GA. You don't win many games conceding 2.

It feels like we've left a fair few points on the table, meaning that errrr, they're not on the table.

In a parallel universe, we're sitting pretty in third on 20 or 22 points.
We've also sneaked a few points that in a parallel universe we might not have: Newcastle, MU 95th minute winner, you could add arsenal in there too really - we didn't look like getting anything till the sending off (and even then could've easily still lost), spurs on another day we don't score 3 second half ...
