Often used to travel back with the players with my Dad from Gillingham. One week me and my brother travelled back with Stuart Storer and Bret Ormarod. Me and my brother being about 11 and 9 trying to be lads started telling them about our Friday night routine of watching euro trash.

Remember Stuart Storer saying to my Dad that he was suprised he let us watch euro trash. Needless to say my Dad had no clue what it was or so he claimed. Needless to say once he discovered what it was we had to be a bit more carful with getting our fill of big fake boobs on a Friday night.
Ah, lola Ferrari, the Romeo cleaners, the poo museum, channel 4 at its best

A group of us once met Chris Ramsey on a train, the conversation got on to hooligan groups (it was the mid 80s) He was surprisingly knowledgeable and was aware of The West Street firm but didn’t seem to rate them very highly in the league table of hooligans 🤣🤣

Back in the 80s my best mate worked for Southern Sound Radio and they played regular charity football matches during the summer. I was invited to play in these matches as a ringer.

Tony Millard was their sports reporter and using his contacts he would turn up with a full Albion kit (Phoenix Brewery / British Caledonian sponsors) for us to play in. In addition he bought in some ringers too (to make sure we had 11). Regulars I played with: Chris Catlin, Danny Wilson, Keiran O'Reagan and Gary O'Rielly, couple of times Terry O'Connor played too.

Dressing room conversations were an education.

I posted something on here about CKR being a bit lazy and received a really abusive PM from his father/stepfather (?). I apologised and said I would not have posted it if I thought it would be read by his family. We became almost internet mates after that as he apologised to me about his rant. We then exchanged a few interesting PMs until CKR moved on.

Real shame you got abuse as it was pretty bloody exciting when you ”won” him
CKR’s Dad Rodney was like many football Dad‘s quite full on, I recall him contacting BBC SCR after he’d been sold wanting to come on the phone in, obviously I wanted to run through his proposed content of our chat.

Clearly not just football, but life in general, there are usually three sides to a story, both versions from either side and the truth in the middle, Rodney was quite rightly very protective of his son, but unfortunately what he wanted to allege would have made ‘Lickergate’ look like the shipping forecast 🙈

Dan Harding and Jamie Mackie were stood behind us at Watford Gap McDonald's on the way back from the 1-4 win at Leicester under Garcia. They were both at Forest at the time and I was tempted to ask why they were at Watford Gap given that Forest were at home to the massive Sheffield Wednesday that evening, but bottled it.
