Man Utd are the second most successful club, and they’re a shit club with **** fans too.

I just hate them marginally less than Liverpool.

Manure, Chelsea, Arse, Spurs, Villa all at the top of my loathing tree. Gives me a ton of Schadenfreude opportunities every match-week  .

Don't get the criticism of Hurzeler's lack of subs today. Liverpool could bring on quality attackers after an hour. Ideally, our response would have been to bring on defenders (we had only Lamptey), or someone to regain midfield control (Baleba obviously not fit enough to be risked). Had we had the wise old heads on the bench that he didn't use, you could blame him, but he didn't. Defensively, his options were fairly thin.

Thought we were magnificent, draw would have been a fair result, but.. Mo Salah, always scores against us. Great game. We destroyed them first half. Velts swan dives have been rumbled by refs (shame) McA, was lucky not to get a second yellow, Big Bart was immense. Well played lads.

Come on lads.

I’m Brighton through and through and I thought the ref was fine today. He generally let the play flow, wasn’t card happy, and got wise to some of our trying to win freekicks, particularly Veltman’s forward flop.

He had no bearing on the result today, and that’s my measure of a referee when we lose. We’d have lost the match just the same if it were Collina in the middle.

We squandered our chances in the first half, they came back with the crowd behind them and a chance to go/stay top, turned on the quality for the second goal, and punished us.

Like I said, good performance, ran their bollocks off, just not quite enough against a very good team. If we’d played that well against say, Ipswich, that would’ve made up for the three points difference.

Nothing due on the Europe tracker for this or the next one, relax. That was very solid today and promising for next week to get bonus points.

I just hate losing.

Any club that beats us, is a shit club; all their fans are really ****; all their players cheating, useless, overpriced twats - all except us. Werebrilliant. All the refs when we lose are shit. All their decisions are really shit. Cheating, useless, thick twats.

F*** them all.

it seemed to me that VAR didn't even bother looking at the first one - all too happy celebrating the equaliser, maybe.
Just seen an angle from a fan's camera on X... Estupinan, I think, was a few yards deeper than the CBs when Gakpo launched his fluke, so Nunez was definitely onside. At least it puts that to bed.

If that's the case what's the point of taking him to Anfield ?

We dominated the first half, then totally retreated into our shell in the second, same as we did against Wolves. Their attackers were overloading the wings and cutting inside every single time on Wednesday night, both goals came from the exact same thing today. Yeah they have a few players that are on a different level to ours, but I just feel we ended up rolling over a bit for them tbh. We had the momentum and chose to come out playing the low block for 45 mins. Then no subs until the damage has already been done…

I know it’s not going to be a popular opinion, I don’t want to have doubts about the manager and obviously didn’t expect us to get anything today before kick off, but there does seem to be an air of naivety about his approach in my view. I do think he is learning lessons as he goes, but it’s whether we’re happy for him to have a ‘transition season’ or not really.

As said, if TB accepts that and sees FH as an investment, and is happy with us not qualifying for Europe this season despite the £200m spend, then fair enough. I just really, strongly believe this team is good enough to finish in the top 6 and should have the freedom and belief to take it to any team in the league.
It is not a popular opinion as it is nonsense. FH has made an excellent start and we played very well today with Pedro, Baleba and Dunk not fit enough to start. We were unlucky not to get a point.

The ref had a Liverpool bias , which normally happens at Anfield. The bindippers should have been 2 nil down in the first half.
Amazing you call me a “Bindipper” when you have Grimsby in your name, even their football club is in Cleethorpes! Try pulling yourself out of the bad side of the 80’s and enjoy Brightons best ever football

There was a nudge on Rutter by vanDijk as he went to shoot but the ball ended up in Kelleher's arms.

Ten a penny in every game, never given.

Albion-loving Aspinall said the ref excuse by a fans texting in was just that, the ref allowed a load of Albion challenges which LFC players called for fouls.

With Arsenal some of us have become the most moany fanbase about officials, 7 years of it, including on Wednesday evening in a fair contest. Thank god for the ignore threads option when the booing starts after a non win.

Oh well, I felt we were fabulous today. Few teams will give Liverpool that sort of game (they look like they’re going to really challenge City for the title). Both teams were remarkably positive and composed throughout and the game could’ve gone either way at any point.

In a perfect world we go in 2-0 up at half-time but we could’ve also gone in 2-1 down (ball hitting Veltman on line and great Bart save).

I think Tony Harrington’s bizarre second half performance led to the game becoming too frantic with decisions absolutely favouring Liverpool and it probably meant we lost the ability to control the game. Not much more we could’ve done for me.
Pretty much how I saw it, thought we were great.
I thought the ref was fine btw, especially when we were winning.

Gary O'Neil's point about ref's 'unconsiously' favouring the big clubs was so true. I often wonder how many points it earns clubs like Liverpool every season.

Agreed. Seemed sensible to save our final roll of the dice until the last 5 or 10 minutes. We'd played so well. Opening up soon after Salah scored would probably have just added another goal or two to Liverpool's tally.
