Was good fun at The Amex on Wednesday. Will it get another airing at Anfield today?
Gave me an idea (NB mainly lightheartedly doomed, but with a semi-serious angle too...) about how we could finally solve the issue of how much noise the different Amex stands can actually make and what that sounds like to the other stands...
To briefly recap. When the stand you are in is making any noise then you can't hear any other stand. Apart from the earliest days of "We're The West Stand" etc, the 3 Albion stands and the SWC are only ever noisy at the same time as each other. Leads to assertions that "the North Stand are never loud" and "the West Stand never sing" (and, every match from away fans, "Football in a library...").
How about doing the "Albion, Albion - Liverpool, Liverpool" thing but with The North Stand starting "Albion, Albion", then the West, then the East replying the same at their full volume, and repeat....
It will obviously never happen - perhaps I should write to Richie Reynolds and ask him to lead us through it just before kick-off at the Palace game? - but it would be good.
