I suspect that this may well have been posted eleswhere, but if so I have missed it - and for anyone else who has done the same, here's a really nice article about Worthing FC and their owner George Dowell - https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...owner-george-dowell-fa-cup-football-interview
Well I hadn't seen it so thanks for posting.

Interesting that he states that his ambition is to see Worthing in the football league. Unlike some do with Crawley no one can claim the Worthing isn't geographically or spiritually, part of Sussex, so I wonder how that will affect the Albion? I can just see disgruntled Worthing fans moaning about the 'Glory Hunters' who support the big Premier League team a few miles to the east! ("I always have". "My Dad was a Brighton fan so I am as well")

The documentary it speaks of is well worth a watch as well. He comes across as a really nice down to earth lad who has been dealt a pretty shitty hand but is making the best out of it.

To be honest the two clubs already share a lot of fans, many of whom are on this board. There is often a dip in the attendance at Worthing if Brighton are at home at the same time and equally there's a boost if they're not. There seems to be a good relationship between the clubs

Big difference between Crawley and Worthing is that Worthing is very much in Brighton's catchment area

Oh definitely. As do Horsham, Lewes, Hastings and a lot of other Sussex non-league sides. I myself used to go and watch Worthing back in the early 80s, indeed in the 82/83 season I saw every round of the FA Cup - I started with Worthing, and after the defeat at Oxford I switched (back) to Brighton and saw all the games up to the Final!

So currently one can support the two sides as there is no conflict. I'm not sure if that'll change though if Worthing get league status.
