I thought he was outmuscled for that second goal…..but agree that he generally had a good game..offered more going forward than Veltman….and also noticed that Liverpool loaded his side….the warnings were there in the first half when it was three on one a couple of times
Nobody has mentioned it but I wonder whether the goal that followed Lamptey being outmuscled might have been ruled out with VAR owing to a foul on Lamptey.

The odd thing about him is he has always been a poor defender. His positioning and his size are a disadvantage. But as a nippy winger, as we saw yesterday, can be brilliant.

There certainly were some complaints from the Brighton players…..and agree with your assessment……overall though i found it quite nice without VAR…but then I’m just an old git

You make all good points, other than I politely disagree with your assessment of Lamptey, I think he’s a really likeable guy but not good enough for us anymore.

I’d add that Igor had a good game and takes no blame for any of the 3 goals.
I thought Igor was excellent

Massive positive is the Palace match being moved to the Sunday. Who wants a football match at 8pm on a Monday night.

happened right by me. i’d have been fuming if that was us and a foul was given. was just a case of lamptey not being strong enough. as usual.

Having seen it back on the highlights, I was very disappointed that even I couldn't muster up any kind of limp excuse for that being disallowed.
Just bad defending.

Lots of positives tbf, but seeing City going out means we stood a chance of some silverware, especially with our depth.

I wish we'd gone full strength. An 'easier' route to Europe than the league this season I suspect.
I agree with you. If we had though, Pool would no doubt have brought on their big guns earlier if needed. But yes, we'd certainly have had a decent chance 👍

Gruda looks a player on last nights efforts, but for me I'm still frustrated at not going full strength for this one.

It's not as if we are playing two games a week every week (unlike Liverpool) so why not go strong? Surely our lads can play two games in a week on the very rare occasion this happens?

An opportunity missed in my view.
I agree, but wonder if it was also concerns about getting more injuries...before the already injured are back.
