Listen to me!!!
Not good enough. Sell in January.
Isn't he available on a free in the summer? I suspect he'll be a really successful and popular winger at a newly promoted side next season, and I hope he does well (except against us). I think the people saying we've outgrown him are right, but we've just about had our money's worth out of him and I consider his signing to be a successful one overall.
I'm with you. He was good for an hour - good enough to think he was almost back to his best. Then it fell apart. Not sure we're ever going to get over him being a bit small to play as an orthodox right-back. Possibly someone who's only really going to prosper long term as a wingback which is very limiting. He's a good lad and decent squad player who always gives it everything and deserves no abuse. He should be amazing after a ten minute cameo and one start this season only earned an assist and a goal.
Clearly should be match sharp after a lengthy lay off and unlike any another player doesn’t need games to get back to form.
So yeah let’s bin him
We’ve out grown him? Without him Saturday we possibly lose to bottom club Wolves.Isn't he available on a free in the summer? He would suit any team playing a back 3 and high wingbacks. Being a HGP will make him even more appealing for a PL team.I agree, he's got the pace and trickiness that a Premier League team will gamble on him, particularly if he's going for cheap. Maybe a Leicester, Everton or Forest even, those who don't have money to burn.
He's reputedly on £35k a week and his contract expires in June 2025. I doubt it will be extended so enjoy him while you can. He's an exciting player.
Unfortunately not good enough defensively at RB but is a good ball carrier and crosses well. He's an excellent impact sub.
We could do worse than play him wide right in midfield in away games where we expect to come under pressure.
Yes the game plan means full backs go long, you can't blame the full back of others don't fill in or the system doesn't provide cover. And he might be small but Liverpool are on the very few teams who are going to have a strong, pacy and clinical player as a wide forward.I'm with you. He was good for an hour - good enough to think he was almost back to his best. Then it fell apart. Not sure we're ever going to get over him being a bit small to play as an orthodox right-back. Certainly not having Andy Hinchliffe's ridiculous call that the first goal was his fault. Lamptey was just in the position he's meant to take up from Steele's clearance. Moder should have behaved like a RB when Liverpool won that ball and got in Gakpo's face, not amble back and wag a half-hearted leg at him.
yes he could have been stronger for the second but it does not merit this level of criticism.
Yeah you are right but I will continue to fight the good fight!I fear you're screaming into the void here, given the level of shit another player has received for a single misplaced pass at the weekend!
