Likeable characters but we (as a club or squad) have become better than the likes of lamptey and moder. Yes, injuries have impacted them but since their injuries and recovery time we have recruited other players that are far better or have developed in the interim. (Not specifically in those positions) Harsh reality I’m afraid.

1. Short journey home for the entire attendance.

2. We maintain our League Cup record which is so poor historically, I actually think it should now be cherished.

Gruda was excellent. I really think he might be something a bit special.

No key injuries.

Thought Mitoma and Perv looking tasty together late on.

Hinsh looking like a mature head and snarky character when he came on.

Igor looking good again.

Weiffer decent in spots.

Just watched the post match comments by Fab….gave his usual response “wait until the morning”…..scan etc
Warren Aspinall said he made his way across the pitch, post-match, on crutches.

Could just be precautionary.

To be fair, Warren had been having trouble getting around under his own steam for a while now.

With the caveat I was in the NWC so not the best view of our second half defending (and got back 20 mins ago and am knackered)

Igor had another solid game

Gruda looks promising

Lamptey did well going forward... I won't finish the sentence as this is the positives thread.

Ferguson put in a good shift, didn't get much in the way of chances but held the ball up and helped us out in creating attacks.

The atmosphere was good for the most part.

Steele made some good stops.

I did get to see a bloke and a woman pretending to be Albion fans with two kids wearing Liverpool shirts get turned away from the NS as well which was quite funny. Bloody idiots.

I think the biggest positive is that a lot of players who haven't had much football got a start and a decent amount of minutes in their legs. It'll do them all good, even the ones who maybe didn't have the greatest game.

It's also a pretty big positive that for the most part we looked decent even with 8 changes. Another day we come out on top by the odd goal in five with that performance.

Just your opinion I'm afraid.

Opening NSC and seeing the top 3 threads are all basically player-slagging is pretty grim.

More positively, anyone know a bar on Fraser Island showing the Liverpool game on Saturday (Sunday) ? 😁

You make all good points, other than I politely disagree with your assessment of Lamptey, I think he’s a really likeable guy but not good enough for us anymore.

I’d add that Igor had a good game and takes no blame for any of the 3 goals.
This.
Igor was ok and in fact looked more comfortable than JPvH.

That said I fear for both of them Saturday.

I don’t usually start positives threads when we lose but I enjoyed that so I will.

- Gruda looked very lively and with more game time will be a real option on the right.
- despite the comments on the match thread I thought Lamptey looked good and got a goal.
- Ferguson looked stronger and sharper than previous games
- Adingra didn’t have best game but scored again and could have had two. Considering he’s missed games and started only once in PL to be on four goals is an excellent effort.
- Hinshelwood back fit
- Estupinan and Mitoma looked sharp when they came on.
- Baleba got a rest.
- Steele made a number of really good saves.

Think that’s all I have. It’s a shame we lost but we can’t complain we didn’t give it a go towards the end.
I stopped reading the moment you said Lamptey looked good. Clueless.

To me JPvH is not the same player without Dunk beside him. I agree the fear. Igor is a fourth choice centre back and it doing pretty well but it is sure to be a stern test. I think we'll be recruiting defensively in the future at RB and CB. Webster is too injury prone and cannot be relied upon.
