I made it through Seb Hutchinson's commentary without lobbing the tv out the window, again.
He was rambling on just before the game about our famous cup victories against Liverpool in 1983 & 1984 and how we'd love a repeat tonight. I may have missed it, but he didn't seem to mention the fact we dumped them out of the cup very recently as well...

I’m pretty happy about Gruda.

He looked like the player we wanted when we signed him.

His first start and he impressed. He has put himself in a great positon to challenge Minteh, March, Adingra and Kadıoğlu on the right wing.

Liverpool will have very different challenges on Saturday. Mitoma vs TAA should be box office. Opposition teams are really struggling with the Welbeck/Georginio partnership and Baleba will have his say in midfield.

With Veltman and Pervis in the full back positions, we should be a lot more solid. JPvH and Igor are looking good also.

Hürzeler had his eye on the weekend. Fair enough. We now go to Scouseland with a point to prove (and hopefully to gain).

nope, towards the end of the first half he was encouraging the audience to watch one of the other matches. Of course he changed his tune when Gakpo scored.

f***ing stats from our last match as reported in the Daily Express.

Hopeless tabloid cartoon emotional analysis of how we feel (devastated, obviously)

He is a ****, isn't he. A thunder, thunder, thunder, thundercunt.

Definitely some attacking positives out there tonight, love to see us really go at them on Saturday with Mitoma, Rutter and the rest.

Lamptey attacking is a positive. Because this is the positives thread I won’t mention his obvious negative.

The other positive was despite getting into the Uni car park being a total shit show we sat down just as we kicked off. Good of them to wait.

Really disappointed. WIth Palace beating Villa, Newcastle beating Chelsea and Spurs beating Citeh115, the competition had opened up and I fear
we've missed a huge opportunity against an understrength Liverpool side.

Lamptey offers something off the bench but isn't a starting full back at this level.

Weiffer (who was, perhaps, the key summer signing) and Moder are demonstrably not good enough to be regular starters. Meanwhile, we've let Gilmour leave at the same time as Groß; whilst putting faith in the spavined Milner.

Thank goodness Baleba has improved but genuinely feel we've dropped the ball here.

Have to hope O'Riley is the real deal when he returns from injury.

Positives? Weiffer, Moder, Lamptey won't be starting on Saturday. Gruda looked promising. Hinshelwood should be back and Mitoma, Welbeck, Rutter, Enciso can definitely trouble Liverpool on Saturday.

Also, from an entirely personal perspective, the Palace game will now be on the Sunday lunchtime rather than Monday night which means I can get a lift to/from the game and avoid the SASTA shit show.

Silver linings.....

A good crowd, 90 mins for Fergie, good signs from Gruda, goal for Adingra, Steele decent and a nice reception for MacAllister.
