Sorry if this fixtures but some Welbz loving from Wrighty

They’re talking bollocks of course, Welbeck started about three games at centre forward for Manchester United, otherwise he was on the left wing. And he’s under contract until 2026 so we’d ask a decent fee.

Won't include the whole thing, but it sounds as though ten Hag was very keen on Danny before he signed his new contract.

'Last year, the target was Harry Kane of Tottenham, who instead went to Bayern Munich. In 2024, it can be revealed Ten Hag felt Brighton’s United old boy Danny Welbeck would be an excellent addition. Towards the end of last season, as United weighed up how to replace the outgoing Martial, Welbeck’s name was discussed internally and people at the club gave serious thought to making him an offer.'

If they had one would hope that TB would tell them to do one, also think Danny is very happy here & wouldn't want to leave unless it was for a massive pay day.

Sounds like he is very happy here, but it would have been interesting to see what happened if United came in for him before he signed the new deal.

He was out of contact at the end of the season and United would have offered a move back home and more money

Chance to see out his career at his boyhood club....and one last big pay day with signing on fee and double his wages. I reckon so.
I can relate to that. I was moderating the National Trust Members Forum before Bozza scouted me and made me a similar offer to come here.

He didn't want to leave Man United, but was moved on and it was a great move for him to Arsenal at the time. I think it would be a really good move for them, but not for us and possibly not also for Wele himself!

Surely he would only leave us to go to a bigger team. United. Lol.

Looking up another stat I noted Danny is our highest number of minutes played in the PL this season with 754 mins. Surprising I thought, and I bet not many times in his career he’s topped that stat.

2nd Mitoma 742mins
3rd Dunk 706mins

Led from the front again tonight. Glad he's here. Proper role model and still making a full contribution on the pitch.

Would he go back to United? I'd guess, sadly yes. I'm sure he's very happy here, but he's a Longsight lad, United academy product. Had Ferguson not retired when he did, I'm not sure he'd have ever left.

Hope it doesn't happen.

What sort of message would that send to the United faithful about the club’s ambition? Perhaps they should also resign Jonny evans…… oh🤣

Long and insightful interview with our evergreen marksman, truly the nicest guy in the game. So proud he’s one of us and in such blistering form: long may it all continue:

Danny Welbeck: They said I might never return to this level
