Isn't it some religious constraint from times past ? the lack of pubs in Heathfield townOnly one pub in Heathfield town, that's the Heathfield Tavern.

Yes, I was told that it was a Quaker(?) town, and they banned the building of pubs on the High Street.Isn't it some religious constraint from times past ? the lack of pubs in Heathfield town
Changed recently to Shell… but yes lack of pubs or good pubs - hence I’ve moved your wayPretty sure it's ESSO currently ( ICBW )
Might explain a few getting lost
Wasn’t in the high street though. I’d been told the high street drinking thing too. But could be a myth… I’m sure you’ll know bestThat is an urban myth. There was a strong temperance movement in the town. But there was also a pub in the middle of the town - The Heathfield Hotel (where sainsburys is now). This was demolished in the early 80's and never replaced.
As you are are a Heathfield resident, I bow to your superior knowledge. That is an urban myth. There was a strong temperance movement in the town. You have never heard of Heathfield? @Sheebo wont be impressedGuess I may be in a minority here but I've never heard of Joe Marler. Or Heathfield
Then my work here is doneYou have never heard of Heathfield? @Sheebo wont be impressed
Whilst I’ve never played rugby or had to face down a Haka first hand, personally I find it more hilarious than intimidating. I know it has great cultural significance, but seeing these hulking beasts sticking their bums out and their tongues out gives off less of a warrior vibe, and more Miley Cyrus at the VMA’s.I see Joe has got in trouble for calling for the Haka to be binned before games. I think he's right. I don't hate the Haka, but I hate that the teams that do it are allowed to do it on the pitch before games. Its seems unfair to me.
In the context of the game, its done to intimidate opponents. How is that fair?
