Thousands of tickets sold on resale websites will be cancelled by Oasis ahead of their upcoming reunion tour.

The band’s promoters, Live Nation and SJM, has told BBC File on 4 that it will cancel more than 50,000 tickets for the band's UK dates listed on secondary platforms.

It said that all invalidated tickets will be made available again through the official seller, Ticketmaster, at face value.

I tried and failed in acquiring tickets for Wembley.
Even though these tickets are available to honest punters, I'm counting myself out.

On a lighter note, I acquired 2 tickets from the BBC for Jools Hollands latest Later series.
Much more civilised and no 3rd parties.

I’m pleased they’re doing this. But how do they identify the specific ticket which is for sale on the secondary platform?

Good on them for this. The only people ripping off fans should be them and their promoters.

And still Liam has to make his own tea.

I'd also like to know this too. Surely, it's impossible?
Viagogo provide the section, row number and number of tickets. How they work out who owns these I do not know.

Well, once they have the block/row/seat then they know who they sold it too.

At that point, it's moot anyway, surely - they will be cancelling the ticket and then reselling it in due course.

I'm not sure how that works with standing tickets though.

A Viagogo representative was on 5Live this morning, full of outrage, stating that they will continue to resell Oasis tickets. Strikes me as pretty dreadful behaviour when they both know it's against the ticket Ts&Cs, and that the resold ticket is likely to be cancelled, leaving the buyer disappointed.

From looking at Viagogo earlier today, only the block and row are visible to the public..the actual seat number is not. I'm just curious, but I'm pleased they are taking measures to do this. Quite lucrative as well, as they get to sell the same ticket twice (I presume they are not refunding people who tried to sell on the tickets...after all they did break the T&Cs). 50k tickets is over 5 extra million.

That is shocking from Viagogo. They really are scumbags.

Support is Richard Ashcroft and now Cast have been added. Not a bad line-up to be fair.
