Skynd have taught me about many different serial killers/cults, very unique band who played Green Door Store at Great Escape 2019 I think it was.

Other than that, I learnt about Sea Shepherd, an ocean conservation society through Gojira, a French death/progressive/groove metal band.

Sea Shepherd's founder Paul Watson is currently being held in Greenland and may be extradited to Japan due to his anti whaling activism, something Gojira have been extremely outspoken about even meeting with the government of Denmark and peacefully protesting for his release.

Great band, even better ethics.

I learned a lot of Irish history from Christy Moore songs

And all about Maximus (Macsen) from Dafydd Iwan's Ymo o Hyd
Although he didn't sing the original version I first learnt about the trial and execution of Sacco and Vanzetti from Christy Moore...

Ladies by Sparks was one of my favourite songs when I was about 9.
Its lyrics name a few famous women with quirky little lines Ron does so well.

“Eva Braun is cracking jokes while Joan Of Arc just sits and smokes” was one,

I assumed she liked a B&H however the amusement I gained when my eldest sister explained her demise stayed with me to this day.

I’d never heard of an English artist called Richard Dadd until, despite having loved the song for years, I decided to look up what Fairy Fellers Master Stroke by Queen was actually all about. Never knew it was a painting.
