Avoid taking your car.

I went a few years back to a non Albion game, parked and straightaway a kid no more than 6 rides up: “fiver to look after your, mate”. While debating in my mind the socioeconomic nuance of the question and my considered response, another guy drives up: “I shouldn’t park there, mate, if you want your wheels on the wagon at 5 o’clock”.

We parked in a nearby school playground.

I'd definitely like to return (maybe Liverpool away) and take in the Maritime museum and other parts of the centre.

I managed to get a full refund for the return from Brighton to Sheffield for late / cancelled trains. I was very lucky at 3 Bridges as there was a coach only stopping at Haywards Heath and Brighton, and the driver dropped some of us at Preston Park.

In May 79 after the famous Albion promotion game, we had to stand in a train all the way from Newcastle to Kings X. I would’ve forgotten that minor blemish, if hadn’t for a family incident.

Yeah, love Liverpool city centre. We made weekends of it.
