A courts expert? Where did you get that from?

Yes, I have worked in the CJS, but I’m no expert. I do believe in letting the police do their job, and not jumping to conclusions from social media.

You’ve often mentioned your real knowledge of the courts and legal stuff on related threads.

I recall that we ALL acted as judges and executioners in the riots threads, including about photographed individuals. Long before the courts cases.

Incredible that he hasn't resigned already. An MP sucker-punching someone and laying into them while they're on the ground? Bloody
ridiculous. The context is irrelevant, no matter the party they stand for, their past, their stance, anything, his career should be finished.

With the facts we have, only fair to assume he is a thug and a barefaced liar.

I know a little but have never pretended to be an expert. @Da Man Clay knows a lot more than me.

Labour have done the right thing by suspending him immediately and withdrawn the whip.
I'm not sure "immediately" is correct here.

Labour's statement says: “Mike Amesbury MP has been assisting Cheshire Police with their inquiries following an incident on Friday night. As these inquiries are now ongoing, the Labour Party has administratively suspended Mr Amesbury’s membership of the Labour Party pending an investigation.”

That statement was released this evening.

The video of the post-assault aftermath was doing the rounds yesterday.

Amesbury's "I felt threatened" statement was released at 4:30pm yesterday.

The video of Amesbury lamping the bloke appeared today.

So, Labour don't seem to have suspended him immediately due to him "assisting Cheshire Police with their inquiries", they only seem to have acted after the incriminating video was spread far and wide.

But, yes, suspending him - eventually - was the correct course of action.

Where in that video do you see the victim turning to walk away?
i Haven`t watched it , it was said earlier in the thread , i have no reason to doubt it . I don`t see how that changes the facts though .

There is sometimes an excellent reason to give someone a clip. Whether this was it we’ll find out sure enough.

I love that, him saying “he felt threatened” like he was going to say anything out after knocking some bloke out without physically being under threat

Not these days, particularly with cctv and bike/car cams. Explaining the massive drop in football violence. You’re one “clip” away from your life being in tatters.

I’ve impressed on loved ones, no matter the provocation, don’t be the puncher.

That’s very good advice until you feel threatened…. Probably a firm grip round their throat would suffice though

There is always a tweet/previous comment haha

What an absolute back to front, anyway i’d like to apologise to anyone on here who i might have offended in the past by suggesting “They are all the same” I’ve clearly got this wrong as i’m not aware of anyone in the last government punching people in the streets, seems to be a common theme in the Red Roses (pointless emoji)
