All good points - although I can't remember? Does/did he get on with his brother? My sister and I have never really got on and I only ever mention her if pressed on the subject OR talking about estranged family members...
I take your point re: not discussing estranged family, but an identical twin is rare enough? Would’ve all been in his paperwork and background checks too being in the police.
My problem with Grace is that the viewer has almost no chance of solving the whodunnit because you don't get enough information. A key fact that you weren't given suddenly emerges two-thirds of the way through.
The last series got better as it went on but yes you are right on this. I haven't read the books to know this is the story or adaptations fault
Definitely adaptation fault IMO - trying to fit a book into a c.90 minute episode
Sorry if anyone mentioned this about Grace before, I didn't notice. But it really bothers me that most the police are northerners. Don't get me wrong, I love northerners as much as the next chap, in fact I'm married to one. But watch any northern based show or any other show that's similar and it's stuffed full of northerners as it should be. The main police parts in Grace are all northern apart from one who is from London. It's irritating. Surely the police force here is mostly from Sussex?
