I don’t like many tv chefs.

Don’t mind Tom Kerridge these days.

Jamie Oliver used to annoy me. Quite like his stuff now.
Kerridge comes across as likeable but I did see a review of his £37 fish and chips at Harrods and it looked shit house. I don’t imagine he’s there daily for QA but wasn’t well received

Might have been? The first observation was it included only 9 chips
It’s a good channel, very fair and he isn’t comped anything, so no conflicts of interest. He’s actually very generous in reviews and sees the positives, but that £37 alleged fish and chips was a disgrace

Jason Atherton’s hot dog place in the same venue is taking a serious battering (sorry) from the critics.

I must say that, despite being a keen cook, I hardly ever watch cookery programmes on TV. I am, however, a big fan of You Tube and Instagram cooking channels and can watch them all night. Some middle-aged blokes spend their screen time watching porn, I get my rocks off on vegetarian videos.

Ones I like are: Chetna, Maya (FitGreenMind) .... and not just because she vaguely resembles my first girlfriend, MyDelhi Streetfood. Eat like a Greek and many more

Years ago i used to help manage the Sainburys exhibition stand which toured county shows and Good Food show's at Olympia and NEC giving away food and drink etc and having a cookery theatre, which had various chefs showing off their skills

Jamie had just signed with JS at one show and after his 'show' the manager wanted to usher him away from the crowds, but he made a big point of staying, signing books, talking to Joe Bloggs and all the shop girls who were working on the stand . Much respect from me for that.

Back in the same sort day, Mary Berry with daughter also has tiny little stands at these shows, and always collared me and my trolleys for moving their stuff between carpark and stand - Always very charming and lovely with it.

Notable others who were nice, Paul Bloxham and Jean Christophe-Novelli.

Bit of an arse - Antony Worrel Thompson.

Massive look at me/i can do what i want attitude - Two fat ladies - (The dead one)

Hes appeared on TV a few times (mainly does festivals and social media) but if you want to raise your game when it comes to barbecuing, then Christian Stevenson (aka DJ BBQ) is your man. Great guy, super enthusiastic about food, and does some awesome recipes....also does stuff with Hunter Gather Cook over at Firle.
