Back on serious track, I did challenge the bouncing of last seasons ‘Liverpool tickets’ thread to discuss this seasons and was put down for it. It was simply confusing and a mess, yes in most cases “what does it matter?” but for date/deadline sensitive stuff it’s sort of like the shit Hove Born n Bred would do.

Do wish after a certain length of inactivity a thread is locked so can’t be bounced. If something really pertinent is in there a new thread can be started and a link to the old one posted in it.

I ignore loads of threads but no posters so far. However think that’s about to change

Crodo.

He can be quite amusing at times, hence not on ignore.

But I'm likely to review my options at some point, given some of the recent soppy-bollocks thread bouncing.

Edit: after now seeing a Mrs Brown's boys thread bounced by.....yes, him, I have now put Crodo on ignore.

I've set a reminder to bounce this in 10 years time. Given I've started to get on a bit, there's no guarantee i'll be around to do so.

Tbh - I‘ve started a few threads when I should have bounced old ones.

I do wish it was obvious that the thread hasn’t been posted on for 10 years before I look at the bump though. Some titles announce things that occurred years ago but could easily relate to the present too so can be a bit like clickbait - maybe a red exclamation next to the date when they are bumped after years of ‘silence’ might help?

Sometimes I bounce old threads if there is something I want to say/news about an old topic. The benefit is that you can see people’s thoughts from a point in time, how they might’ve changed, plus learn things about the subject you didn’t otherwise know.

Seems pretty straightforward to me. Like if a show had a new series but the last episodes were some years ago, it makes sense to continue that thread.

Or if a player is post worthy, you’d find that player’s old thread
