If it’s true and there’s been no amicable parting then it stinks, however it can’t be much fun for the manager to have AF literally looking over his shoulder at every home match, and being televised muttering “something” to the person sitting next to him.
They haven't booted him out. They've just stopped paying him £2m a year for doing not a lot. He's still a non-executive director and still gets his free seats.

Playing devils advocate here, they’ve slashed the budgets for their match day staff, a lot of people laid off who clearly needed that money, Fergie was getting a alleged 7 figure salary to be a United ambassador.

Maybe it’s for the best ? 🤷‍♂️

I don’t disagree. MU fans just can’t move on. They were like it with Busby and the club went backwards for years.

Wait until you hear what the likes of Antony, Maguire and Rashford are earning. Between them that’s a million a week

That salary is a piss take. I presumed he has his expenses covered but that’s it.

Clearly not, I doubt TS would have broadcast that figure without fact checking it.

I’ve no doubt he clearly had an allegiance to United but that salary figure highlights everything that is wrong at Old Trafford at the moment, you’d almost question with the dodgy way the Glaziers purchased the club and subsequently run it, they were effectively ‘buying’ his silence with that package?

I‘m sure Mullers isn’t on that kind of deal as Albion ambassador.

Agree, if you are laying of 250 members of staff it’s not really a good look to continue paying a multi millionaire ambassador £2m a year.

Keeps his non exec role and his 8 seat table in the directors box on match day though.

It’s funny how he’s never come out and said anything about the asset stripping Glazers, however now he is off the payroll…

I heard that Mullers threw his club ambassador’s money at the Palace fans last season, saying “That’s all you’re worth!”

Pretty sure Sir Alex as an ambassador has made them more money than he's cost them. Having sponsors and whatnot cuddle and shake his hand rather than the hand of... idk, Ed Woodward? has probably done them a lot of good in the financial department. I think his salary is probably understandable given that he's the biggest/most impressive dawg in this billion pound business.

Its likely a sporting decision rather than a commercial one. They are transforming into something more sensible and if its true that he wants Allegri as the replacement for Ten Hag, I think he's basically going in the opposite direction of where they feel they need to go. Time to cut the ties to his involvement.
