I’ll go further with that album, I would say This is England and 3 card trick are two of the best songs the clash produced after their first LP.
These Mohawk revenge recordings are the album re-recorded coping the style of each musician taken from live recordings, it shows what a cracking LP this could have been.

I too love 'Monster' but surely their worst album is 'Around The Sun' ... I would need to be paid to listen to that one again.

Yes agreed, none of their last 5 albums were anywhere near their previous output, but around the sun was very poor. Monster was getting bad reviews when it was released, probably because it was so different to AFTP. I never understood.

I do! Absolute shite other than George Harrison’s songs for me
I am not surprised Lennon decide to walk away after Abbey Road, although McCartney (control freak imo) then announced he was leaving shortly afterwards.

The worst album by Pixies is better than most albums.
‘tis a shame most people’s experience of Pixies is the couple of songs that only ever got played on the radio;
Monkey gone to heaven, Here Comes Your Man, and Where Is My Mind.
All good songs but only scratch the surface of their stuff.
Not trashed by anyone but generally considered their weakest.
Not a bit of it!

In recent years I've had gained an appreciated for Iron Maiden's ' The X Factor. Universally panned back in the day. Gloomy production and mood and people were struggling with the departure of Bruce Dickinson. However, years later I've warmed to it and Sign of the Cross is a stonking classic even if I do prefer Bruce's live Rock in Rio performance in 2001

I was a huge Sabbath fan,... when Ozzy left and Dio took over vocals for the Heaven and Hell album in the very early 80s, the general opinion was negative from the wider Black Sabbath fan corps.... however, I really loved it.

No shame in that as Dio is a premier league vocalist whilst I always thought Ozzy was Ismithian League particularly with regard his solo output. Controversial I know but I've always thought Ozzy has just been brilliantly managed and able to surround himself with brilliant band mates.
The only Ozzy solo albums I can dig are Bark at The Moon and The Ultimate Sin and that's all to do with Jake E Lee who is one of the most underrated guitarists ever.

However I'm still stunned by the above. Come Together, Oh Darling, I Want You, Because and Golden Slumbers all "absolute shite".

Yeah I know, but I expected better from a band who had made much much better albums. Let it Be and Abbey Road were massive disappointments to me at the time. On reflection absolute shite should be mostly absolute shite in comparison to what they had done before.
Probably because McCartney had more influence by then and his songs were moving even further towards the twee stuff he specialises in most of the time.

Monster suffered because it followed the commercial peak of Green, Out of Time and Automatic for the People. Crush With Eyeliner is the only track I revisit.
