Alastair Campbell was very fair on Nicky Campbell this morning, for once ditching the aggressive one-eyed persona. Very clearly pointing out the management failings to date, on what should’ve been done. Love or hate him, he knows what he’s talking about it.
One thing he said was that the huge gap between the GE and the first budget is a kinda record, a mistake. It was unnecessary and has added to feeling of injustice over WFP.

I'm not saying she didn't, but the impression I've taken from news coverage - generally from the likes of Chris Mason and Henry Zeffman on 5Live whilst out walking the dog is...
- Labour had years to plan for regaining power, yet seem to have entered government with almost no plan at all.
- Allowed freebie-gate to just run and run and run. They never got ahead of the story to shut it down - it ran away from them and they just couldn't get it under control.
- She had no party politics experience which found her seriously wanting, as well as pissing off a lot of people she really needed onside.
All of this. She has been an absolute millstone around the new government’s neck. Very few actual plans seemed to much to have been put in place and deep disquiet about her among the cabinet started within weeks of the election - as revealed on NSC, weeks before the main media organisations started reporting it.
Funnily enough, apparently it was a couple of Kevin Bridges gags on HIGNFY on BBC1 prime time Friday night that finally promoted the PM to pick up the phone and say enough is enough.

If you'd like to check, in the first 15 years I was on NSC, I didn't make any (or possibly very occasional) political posts as we had normal Governments doing normal things. Then Cameron decided to call the referendum, and I was extremely concerned about what that would do for Britain and posted as much over the whole Brexit farce. When it became apparent that a Government led by johnson was going to crash us out of the EU for personal gain, I continued to be actively involved in the Political threads.
Now that we are back to 'normal' Governments, I can't get so excited about it and will leave it to others. Maybe those who very rarely posted during the Brexit and Johnson debacles and are now making up for it over the last 12 weeks.
Lots of different people on NSC with lots of differing views as you can see from when they choose to get political and when they choose to go 'AWOL'.
I have voted for all the three major political parties over the years and others, but haven't voted for any Labour candidate at any election of any type for well over 15 years now, but do carry on

You perhaps make a point, I don't know, though you can't lump everyone who detests the direction this Labour Govt. has taken and wants them held accountable in the same camp. Have never voted Tory in my life though seeing Starmer as a fraud he was never an option.

Not defending Nandy, never!, but Lewis comes across as aggressive and shouty. I gave up half way through cos he kept repeating himself, just louder. The new Jeremy Kyle?
