We were absolutely on our knees and being smashed by Spurs.

Veltman is out of ideas and reaches into his catalogue of dark arts to try and get Maddison off. Look, it’s bollocks and it’s cheating but his backwards fall after some handbags with the darts thrower actually made me cry with laughter it was so good!
It was also a reaction to Maddison's persistent diving.
I don't think it was a genuine attempt to get him sent off, more a piss take.

Deepest, darkest Sussex
He did his own North London double today on being an oppo fan favourite
Watching the Arsenal fans yesterday on the soshul meedja trying to decide whether to direct their hatred at Maddison or Veltman was hilarious

surely Veltman should have got a yellow at least for his ridiculous dive backwards. Happened in front of us and even the die hards were laughing not baying for spurs to be sent off.
It was the level of ridiculousness, which means he shouldn't have been cautioned.

So obviously a piss take, after Maddison had spent an extended time on his arse in the penalty area, having not been challenged.

Although Naomi seemed unfazed

This was retweeted by Mwepu‘s account wasn’t it - is he still around/following us?

Would be good to get an update on his health.

(sorry for going off topic)

The man is class, you'd hate him against us, love him in our team.
Everything you want in the modern game, discrete thuggery, smiley face, awesome defender.
My favorite player since JCFG!
He’s been my favourite player for ages. We just look so much better when he plays. He does everything on his own terms.

Win or lose you get 100%, every little trick to give himself an advantage.

I’ve posted endlessly about my love of Veltman on here, and right now along with Verbruggen and Welbeck, is one of the first names on my team sheet personally.

He’s a winner and you need those.

This!

He has absolutely elevated us, in his time here.

Should point out that’s a Mwepu fan account (As an example he lost a bet to the CFO4tag (parish parody account) and gave him access to post on his behalf for a week a while back )

The genuine party is still about though

Absolutely. He may not always catch the eye (because he quietly makes it look easy) but we literally only look solid defensively with him in the team. A massive influence, Fabian needs to be getting in Joel's ear about delaying that move back to Ajax for a year or two
We miss him desperately. Yes Lamptey or Hinshelwood would look more threatening going forward, but Veltman helps hold the entire defensive shape of the defence and midfield through his positioning. A least a couple of times per games he covers on the sweep where a chance would’ve been had against a lesser fullback.

Just love the cut of the guy’s jib. My kind of defender
