When Facebook and Reddit doesn't give a lot... well, where do you go?

One of my roomies inherited a bunch of Peruvian stuff from his grandpa. We think about going to some auction service but can't be arsed.

I need to know how to determine if this 800 year old thingie is real or not and what we're supposed to do with it.

NSC always has the solution so I'm putting my hope in your hands.

Not an expert but have seen quite a lot of South American and Central American art and I’d say if it is authentic it’s probably older than 800 years old. By the 13th century a lot of their techniques for pottery and paining were quite advanced.

Do you know how to be sure its real? Should I drop it on the floor and see what happens?

Would likely to have had legs originally. Cuchimilco figure by the Chancay. Not valuable about £100 according to a well known antique expert who I know.

I’m getting Puppycat vibes from it.

It looks like a flute or ocarina.
Like this one on Wikipedia, dating from 1300-1500.
In 1964an English mathematician invented a new kind of ocarina allowing a full octave to be played. This is now know as (ahem) 'the English fingering system'.
