Good to see Albion loanees Mark O'Mahony and Andrew Moran both on the scoresheet. It seems that team from Hampshire got a bit of a thrashing.

The Stoke we beat 4-2? That Stoke?

Your Not Namesake will be pleased.

The dull part of the south coast
Stoke not exactly setting that league on fire either before that result, which bodes even worse for Pompey. Be marvellous for them to go straight back down, and potentially just miss out again on a derby season if Saints drop too :lolol:
You know you can be so cruel sometimes. Oh, f*** it! Living down here on the Solent part of the south coast for the last forty odd years I’ve had it rammed down my throat how wonderful Saints and Pompey are. L’il ol Brighton and Bournemouth just League One/Two minnows who’ll never achieve anything. Well the boot really is on the other foot now and I’m rather enjoying our moment in the sun. That feeling might not last long but while it does I’m going to lap it up. :drink:

This really is excellent news. But excitement in the hope that they drop back to league one where they belong is somewhat tempered by the fact they are probably in a false position.

They have played all of last season's relegated sides and the only one of those that they lost to was Burnley and that was in injury time. They've also played West Brom, Middlesbrough and Sunderland who are all expected to challenge the top 6. That said, being smashed by Stoke and taking just 1 point from the 2 home games against Millwall and Luton is certainly good news.

"It might not last long". Well it's feeling like quite a while these days, and Portsmouth in particular continue to be utter gash and the laughing stock of the region. South Coast Championship for the past few years, with league positions:

So of the last 8 seasons, we've been outside the top 2 for ONE season, and have been the outright best for the last THREE with a 50/50 chance of being the best this season too.

The good thing about that game footage is that you can actually see the away fans, especially important as more and more goals go in. It should be mandatory to have losing team away fans in shot, especially for heavy defeats, and especially if they're Leeds, Villa, Pompey, but obviously not if it's us.
