I'm just missing the Digweed's trousers reference mate.... can you fill me in?
Safe as houses , the goalie in trousers. It was one of the tshirts along with mike small (simply the best) and Johnny crumplin (football genius)

Wasn’t it to protect his nads after he nearly lost one?

A bit like when Eric Young had to start wearing a headband, only with added bollock jeopardy.

IIRC it was a split urethra. I bet that stings

You forgot Crumplin football genius, Codner portraying himself as Gordon Gecko away from the pitch and and Walker's unfortunate Flash nickname from a previous indiscretion! :)

Was the Keith Cuss 'heading into the crowd' incident during Barry's reign? Home to man city?
Yes, I reckon it was.

As sad as it is, Bazza's passing has allowed quite a few of NSC's oldies a fun trip down memory lane. They were fun times until we realised what was happening at board level.

I think Gulls Eye used to refer to him as Barmy Lloyd way back then.

The 87/88 season was a joy and he did so well to keep us up for 4 seasons, and getting us to the play off final was a bit of a miracle.

RIP Bazza, condolences to the Lloyd clan.

Too young

He had an eye for a forward, John Byrne and Small, one of the best front two in my Albion supporting life.

Did he ever give up chain smoking?

Edit - I rest my case re forwards having seen the @Jam The Man post above.
Too young indeed RIP Barry
But Gavin Geddes….come on

Barry Lloyd signed a couple of players from non-league Barnet - Robert Codner and Nicky Bissett for around £400,000 combined. Were there more? I think I might have missed a player out?

Codner was a great signing from memory. Was Bissett a good player? He was at the Goldstone for seven years although only played around 90 games.

Edit: transfer fees were £115,000 each. £230,000 for the pair. Good business.

Bissett was a good centre back whose career was ruined by injury.

Bissett and Codner were both £115,000 each - a record for non league at the time.
Bissett’s injury did for him making a big move, and Codner whilst very talented, was also infuriatingly inconsistent
