Clearly Israel can’t deal with all significant threats otherwise 7/10 would never have happened (despite the threat being known) , Hezbollah wouldn’t have enforced evacuation of thousands of Israeli’s from the Israel/Lebanese border, and the new hypersonic missiles fired from the Houthi’s in Yemen would not be penetrating Israel’s very sophisticated anti-missile defences.

Agree that Iran couldn’t hope to win an all out war against Israel, not while the West is arming her but Iran has already openly attacked Israel - or perhaps you have forgotten that? Suggesting that the red line has been crossed for them.

Also any war between Israel and Iran would not be limited to Israel and Iran but would involve the US, to what extent depending on who was the next President - with probably Turkey, Egypt, Russia and China being actively against any war on Iran.

It’s a complicated mess with nothing happing in isolation in the ME or Yemen.

However you look at it, it’s another major escalation on top of the attacks against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
A low tech infiltration of course can always beat the odds from time to time,... that is a world away from an open attack on the nation as a whole.....

....and Iran, they attacked, Israel responded by taking out various Shia militia hot spots and their associated leadership and intelligence agents.....the same with the Houthi attacks.

Am I missing something?
Netanyahu has bombed the shit out of Gaza and said that all targets were where Hamas are hiding. Surely that's where the hostages are? So, has he killed most or all of the hostages himself or are they hiding where he can't find them? How come there's been nothing of ground troops finding hostages and releasing them?

Nope not at all. I’m intrigued in general how a war in Lebanon in any way helps Israel rescue the hostages which is, supposedly, the reason for the war in the first place.
Hezbollah have fired rockets into Israel every single day since October 7th (& commited hundreds of atrocities previously. Would be weird if Israel hadn't responded eventually.
Wouldn't we?

Sadly.... I agree with you.

Those that are left in captivity, have virtually no hope whatsoever.

The price of just a small minority of them being released, would eventually lead to far more deaths in the future. A truly horrific situation for the hostages and their families to be in. It just doesn't bear thinking

ANTISEMITISM!

It doesn’t. It’s always been about the Zionist dream of a greater Israel.

I really fear a global conflict could be on the horizon. It’s only a matter of time before the Arab/Muslim world says enough is enough, and attack Israel from all sides. We all know what comes next.
Well the big
I guess the IDF have got better at hitting targets after all the thousands of civilians massacred in Gaza. What a relief.
It’s quite easy to be precise when dealing with an “army” that doesn’t hide its “soldiers” within civilian areas. Also this war has the lowest civilian death % of any modern conflict. But hey it’s Isreal we don’t have the right to defend ourselves 😉

The only countries/external-locations Israel has attacked are those that have been attacking Israel. Egypt and Jordan haven't done anything and nothing has happened to them in consequence.

Maybe if everyone stopped attacking Israel, then they wouldn't need to fight back. Those who advocate for a ceasefire should apply the same logic to those who attack Israel. If the attackers ceased firing at Israel, then Israel would not be firing back at them. It's worked for Egypt and Jordan - why can't it work for them, too?

We. We. We? Are you British or Israeli, is your faith more important than your nationality? Just for the record, so we know where you are coming from.

And what about the apartheid in Gaza, or the land grab on the West Bank? The west has done nothing to stop these immoral actions, should we just accept that Israel can do what it likes?

Do Palestinians have a right to exist? Do they have a right to a homeland not illegally occupied?

I think we all know know Netanyahu’s answer to this and it is evident in the obliteration of Palestinian homelands and neighbouring countries where displaced Palestinian refugees reside.

An over simplification given the Saudis hate Iran and are already fighting the Houthis.

Doesn't Israel basically class any fighting age male as an enemy combatant? IDF units under order to kill according to that definition led to them murdering fleeing Israeli hostages waving white flags.

If there is apartheid in Gaza, then that is down to Hamas, the democratically elected government body... Israel has had no political say in Gaza since 2005.
