I wouldn’t put an offer on anything like like unless it had been signed off by Buildings Regulations tbh.

Breaks my heart people should ruin the insides of lovely old properties by dividing up the original interiors and ruining the aesthetics of the proportions like this. No respect for heritage,

I haven’t much time for property developers that buy period investment properties then gut them turning the insides into small apartments to get as much money as possible when they put them back on the market.

Many people years ago dropped the ceilings for noise insulation and reduce heating costs.
It does seem to have happened a long time ago.

No idea why they've done it but that's the kind of thing that would bug the hell out of me! l would've probably bought it without noticing & then spent the entire time I lived there wanting my windows back! Badly cut in paintwork does my head in & missing windows would drive me insane, I'd want to find the coving!!
