The fact that Crodo's given the idea a thumbs-up may give an indication as to whether HT's being a little mischievous. :)

I think most people know I am a progressive european who enjoys a metric measure with his craft beer.

In Lund there's an Austrian pub called Rauhrackel where people usually order a meter of beer.

I still don't understand the need for pubs or alcohol. Alcohol just seems to cause behavioural issues.

There is no need for pubs or alcohol. There is no need for most things. We could all spend our lives doing absolutely nothing.

Alcohol is good fun. It's a social lubricant. Socialising is really important - and this is why pubs are so important, especially in these incredibly lonely times with so few other third spaces.

In regards to behavioural issues - it really isn't an issue for a vast majority of drinkers.

That would be like buying grass in grammes. Instead of a Henry it would be 3.54 grammes. Utter nonsense that will result in illegal drink cartels supplying pints nephariously. Only organised crime will benefit. Is that reactionary enough?

Pubs serve as a vital third place. Somewhere to unwind, to socialise, to eat, to drink, to be merry.

Plenty of people can enjoy alcohol without abusing it.
30k ISH do just that every other week at the Amex

Yes get rid of the pint, and only sell beers and lagers in yard glasses, that should sort the drinkers from the rest

There was always a 2/3rds of a pint option when I was a kid. It was called 'stick a half in there' as you handed over a pint glass with half an inch of beer in it
