[Help] I've got wood. How to sell it?

So my old man bought some seasoned oak wood planks about 60 years ago, with some wedding gift money apparently. Intention was to make some furniture with it I believe... yet they've moved 3 times and brought it with them each time,stored it well etc and never used it.... (he's a bit of a hoarder my old man). And now he's 86 and wants rid. At timber yard prices it's worth about £1400 he reckons at current prices but obviously 2nd hand would be worth a lot less. I stuck it on FB markeplace and gumtree without many views. Anyone have any ideas as how to sell it? It's really good quality and I'm sure a skilled worksman would love it and it seems such a shame to go to waste but it's one of those things that it's a bit - how the hell do i get rid of this?!

10 years ago I’d have had them off you as we chose solid oak planks for our hall over the modern laminated stuff!

Surprised nobody is interested in them if the price is decent. Photos and sizes might help?

If you struggle to find anyone to buy it at any price you will deffo get takers on freecycle..there are Brighton and Hove groups and am sure many others across the UK.

Thanks for the laugh (title) , now that i`m back on my feet - try a restoration firm , restoring firms that use old 2nd hand and recyclable items and materials to use on old buildings to keep originality , may even get a good price , good luck .

cheers for all info. here's a crap photo (the small pieces of wood are just loose spacers). He's decided he wants £700 for it all. 3/4 inch seasoned oak, planed all round.

3x planks 12" wide and 6 foot long. 2x planks 6" wide and 6 foot 9" long. 1x plank 9" wide and 7 foot 3" long. 1x plank 9" wide and 5 foot 7" long.
