We can have a friendly bet on whether he makes 20+ starts for Brighton in the epl if you want ?
14 starts now, 6 to go and FH doesn't look like dropping him soon. Can't be many Academy players who have 4 goals for us in their first 18 EPL appearances; Ferguson probably, but he didn't do it mainly from positions in defence. He's one of three teenagers to get a goal in the division so far this season. One of the others is that young Argentinian that Leicester have picked up from somewhere on loan.

I'd expect you may end up being very pleased to have your prediction proved wrong. He's a kid, he will face challenges, there are no guarantees, but he was the second youngest in England's recent U21 squad https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/england-u21/startseite/verein/9565 and today's goal means that nobody in that squad has more EPL goals than JH. Not James McAtee, not Elliot Anderson, not Morgan Rogers, not Liam Delap, not even generational talent Adam Wharton ;) . Of that squad, only Harvey Elliott has scored as many EPL goals as Jack. He's scored his 4 in 59 more appearances than it's taken Hinshelwood. He's been playing in attacking positions...... for Liverpool.

If Hinshelwood continues his trajectory, he could be something very special, some kind of cross between Lewis Dunk and Pascal Gross. Please keep talking him down though. It took eight years for football to notice that Pascal was quietly one of the most effective players in World football. It would be good to keep this one under wraps too.

It took Ferguson 12 PL appearances to reach 4 goals.
It took Aaron Connolly 26 PL appearances to reach 4 goals.

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
It's his delayed timing of arrival in the box that I like. He did it particularly well from RB last year.
It certainly had the Forest defenders arguing with each other as to who should’ve been marking him.

So what's next for Jack?

He's got a start in what seems must be his favourite position. He absolutely nailed his opportunity. Soon he'll have O'reilly, Milner, Gomez, Wieffer, Ayari competing for that place.

But surely whatever fee we have paid for them, Jack is in pole position now. Him and Baleba surely are our starting midfielders for the next few games. Then we'll see. See if they can keep up that impressive form.

Logic dictates to me, that as young players they will drop off at some stage and that will give someone a chance. It's also quite likely that Pervis will get another niggle and and Jack gets shunted back to full back.

But all that notwithstanding, Jack and Carlos is our CM partnership through the autumn isn't it?

Sigh.
