Not too good at technical stuff am I? Or at answering your quizzes.I get a copy of the Cricket Paper from Ian Greig ? But he's in Australia these days.
And he's not said player either

Managed to get there by googling a random Surrey v Sussex match from 1990ish, looking at the Sussex attack and thinking "oh yeah, it'll be him".It is Surrey (I forgot Giddins spent a season there)
I'll add a clue to say that this player did play Test cricket- although he may wish to thank his fiance for the opportunity he got... It didn't help much as England suffered one of their worst ever defeats. Possibly even one of the quickest defeats ever.Managed to get there by googling a random Surrey v Sussex match from 1990ish, looking at the Sussex attack and thinking "oh yeah, it'll be him".
Top fact that.
That clue has given it away to me. Superb statI'll add a clue to say that this player did play Test cricket- although he may wish to thank his fiance for the opportunity he got... Must be Tony Pigott!I'll add a clue to say that this player did play Test cricket- although he may wish to thank his fiance for the opportunity he got... It didn't help much as England suffered one of their worst ever defeats. Possibly even one of the quickest defeats ever.
Must be Tony Pigott!
He had the most expensive economy rate at Lord's in the 1993 NatWest Trophy final for a Sussex bowler though. 31 years later it doesn't get any easier.View attachment 189281
Not sure what Roger Knight was doing at 11. May have been injured.
Yes, I was there that day . At tea Warwicks were 7-1 at the bookies. Sussex had set a record total that lasted four hours. He had the most expensive economy rate at Lord's in the 1993 NatWest Trophy final for a Sussex bowler though. 31 years later it doesn't get any easier.

I missed that one but I was there in 1963!My first trip to Lord's that was.......
Have you been drinking too much champers? I would be livid if I was left out of this match so a youngster could get some experience (what would it prove anyway?). If Farbrace has done anything it has been to create a winning mentality, a team of winners…. And we want to win every match and finish top of the pile.
Strongest team available please!
I’m kinda hoping the weather forecast is right and we’ll get sufficient points to finish top although it’d be nice to be watching as we get over the line by taking a wicket or scoring a run.Just to make it clear, I'm not suggesting that I'd do it but the Sussex management team have been very clear about giving young players a chance (hence no overseas players for the One Day Cup). I was just wondering whether they'll take the opportunity to give a couple of youngsters a game.
Judging by the weather forecast, it looks like it won't matter what team we'll put out, as most of it will be rained off
I understand the idea, but I can't see them doing it. Too wet i'm assuming rather than rain, i'm in Shoreham and it's not rained as much as expected yet......Delayed starts at Hove and Headingly. I’d be surprised if there’s much play today.
Well we know who and what to thank for that. The CC is such a shambles with the current fixture set up
Fixtures this late in the year are always going to be rain affected
Thankfully Sussex only need 6 points for the title, but if there was 10 points between 1st and 3rd it shouldn't be down to where there is less rain to who goes up/wins title.
