Rayner seems to now be caught up in it, not properly declaring the use of a New York holiday home from Lord Alli
I understood it was properly declared. LK didn't challenge her on that, merely questioning why she accepted it.

Yes she did declare it but seems to have plucked the amount out thin air. Think a penthouse in New York would cost a bit more than £1250 to rent.I understood it was properly declared. LK didn't challenge her on that, merely questioning why she accepted it.

Yes, I guess it's a kind of 'I know best, don't challenge me'. There's an element of it's the correct thing to do in taking it away from the richer pensioners.
But, imo using Pension Credit as the determinor is the only way that they can means test it. That's when they should have said STOP, this doesn't work.
Sorry for repeating this point again but I believe this cut is ideological for Reeves, as shown in this House of Commons clip from 2014:
Couldn’t agree more.If I hear Rachel Reeves say the words "22 billion black hole" one more time I fear my TV will get launched out of the window.
Still a £7,500 donation for "clothes" seems lovely, shame she still looks like a bag of potatoes (See also Rayner).
It's a no win if they have this vote. If they lose then the parlimentary party isn't representing its members and if they win the message is the party has decided that certain pensiores are expendable.Unions win non-binding vote calling for Labour to scrap winter fuel payment cuts
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham says the decision to cut the payments is a "noose around our necks".www.bbc.co.uk
Boos as vote on winter fuel allowance delayedA debate and (non-binding) vote on reversing the winter fuel allowance cuts will seemingly not take place at the Labour conference today. The announcement was met with boos in the conference hall in Liverpool this morning.
Agreed. It's a no win if they have this vote. If they lose then the parlimentary party isn't representing its members and if they win the message is the party has decided that certain pensiores are expendable.
