That was certainly our best chance. The other efforts seemed like half chances in comparison. Mitoma has to score there, no excuse.

McKenna is a highly rated manager, and his team are well versed in his tactics.
We have a new manager, with many new players, we are in transition.
Expecting us to turn up and bulldozer the new boys, is plain arrogance.
admittedly i predicted a win for us, but within 20 minutes, it was plain to see, that it wasn't going to be a walkover.

I don't always agree with you Dwayne, but I'm with you 100% on this.
Ipswich were probably the most organised and disciplined newly promoted side I've seen at the Amex.
They won't be relegated (you heard it here first).

My biggest frustration was the pace we had up front from Mitoma, Minteh and Georginio and the ref usual to put the ball in the channel behind. Minteh was making lots of movement first half and calling for it. After half an hour of not getting anything over the top, he stopped bothering and started coming short to get on the ball (then arguably overplaying).
Why buy quick players if you’re not going to use their pace?
I appreciate not every time, but if the full backs think they’re getting done for pace then the defence drops which gives more room for the edge of the box play.

100%. The view from the North Stand, half way up, isn't always the best, but I thought we were good yesterday. Lots of really slick interplay (much quicker than under Potter or RDZ), and the way we regain possession at speed is really impressive. If we'd scored in the first half (as we deserved to) it would have been a completely different game. We're suffering a bit without anyone truly creative in the centre....albeit I've been pleasantly surprised at how well Ayari has played. Once we get a few more of the new guys fit we'll be OK in that department. Probably missed JP, too - he's quite an inventive player.
As for Ipswich, they looked VERY well coached. The Man Utd job "opportunity" probably came a little too early, but I can see McKenna being their number one pick in the future. There is no way Ipswich are going down this season.....they are building something pretty impressive (all the more so when you consider they were in League One just a couple of seasons ago).
Final comment: Baleba! What a player he is becoming. Some have likened him to Biss, but actually I think he's more like Caicedo in terms of his strength and ability to win the ball back in impossible situations. Just needs to work on his decision-making (but with a more experienced partner than Ayari I'm sure that will improve soon).

The fact is, they kept us out, and could have even nicked it near the end.
Their game against Southampton will be very important.
Generally as a newly promoted team, you need to ride the self-confidence from winning the Championship and turn it into early wins in order to stay up.If they don't win against Southampton, they - despite their hard efforts (and good opposition) - would have started the season with five winless games. The survival rate for a newly promoted team with a start like that must be very very small.
When I saw their first game I thought "ok, they're playing the only way they can play if they are going to have any chance of staying up". Very Brentford-esque. I'll give them a better chance of survival than Leicester or Southampton.
Three of Everton, Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich are getting relegated and despite some strong indiciations of the opposite, I think Everton will sort it out if Dyche or someone can make their Championship level defenders perform above their standards. Unfortunately - would be more interesting to see Ipswich for a few years.

I'm not sure about Everton - despite chucking away two goal leads in the last two games. They are hugely hampered at the moment by having to play Michael Keane. He is nowhere near EPL standard. Once they get Branthwaite back, and pair him with O'Brien, their defence will be miles better. Dyche can then get back to the old tactic of grinding out 1-0 victories :-(

Just for clarity, it was 21 shots, and 6 on target.
Sure, Branthwaite would help them. Their starting eleven is stronger than the other bottom candidates but they are very vulnerable to injuries. Is not just Michael Keane... Seamus Coleman is done at this level, even Young gets old, Mykolenko is poor...
According to their fans (or one of my mates anyway) they could be playing O’Brien, Dyche chooses to play Keane.
