I watched this one on the YouTubes actually. Huge game tomorrow - very early train booked. Lansdowne Road is always a tough place to visit, and I haven’t been to Wales in ages. Let’s give those Welshies a good thrashing tomorrow! What did you think of the Madejski stadium?
Godspeed!I watched this one on the YouTubes actually. Huge game tomorrow - very early train booked. Lansdowne Road is always a tough place to visit, and I haven’t been to Wales in ages. Let’s give those Welshies a good thrashing tomorrow!
I guess that's the opposite of the commentator's curse. If the commentator was a fanShould be a couple of goals ahead, without playing amazing. Mullins looking decent I suppose, but nobody really standing out as a cut above on either side. So far.
I’m sorry to dig out one of our own, but Cam Peupion is having a bit of a nightmare out there so far. He’s lost the ball constantly, too many touches, bottled two 50/50’s and passed the ball straight out of play there at the end of the half, leading to a corner and a half chance for Reading.
The lad is just turning 22 - I think it’s the end of the road of his Albion journey very soon.
Yup, been pushing that opinion for a while. He's got it.That Peupion hat trick was high class but at 20 he needs to be doing that if he has a future at this club. Needs a loan in the Championship or top end L1 club.
As for Harry Howell, this lad is special.
He has that skill of appearing almost effortless. Not as dynamic or as much of a dribbler as Foden and almost looks like he doesn't belong in English football. Definitely feels more European in use of space, timing, technique etc. Do you think someone's having us on and it's some elaborate hoax? Could it be that he's really in the Ajax academy and called Harrie van der Heuvel?Harry Howell is just lovely to watch, he’s got a bit of Foden about him. Just lets the ball do the work and glides pass the opposition.
Looks like he’s grown again, too.I really like the look of Joe Knight, doesn’t waste the ball, good range of passing and strong in the tackle. We’ve got some very good players coming through.
Him and Simmonds (at least) will end up in the first team squad from that age group imo……….can see a point in maybe 3-4 seasons where we might have 5 or 6 academy players in it which would be some payback on TB’s investmentYup, been pushing that opinion for a while. He's got it.

if they stick him in the first team now, people will be confusing him with Van Hecke!
Great prospect. Hove Park producing the goods again. That’s now ME, Haydn Roberts and Joe Knight
Let's hope so, but keep the pressure off them.Him and Simmonds (at least) will end up in the first team squad from that age group imo……….can see a point in maybe 3-4 seasons where we might have 5 or 6 academy players in it which would be some payback on TB’s investment
Fingers crossed. 5 or 6 from any academy would be miraculous.Him and Simmonds (at least) will end up in the first team squad from that age group imo……….can see a point in maybe 3-4 seasons where we might have 5 or 6 academy players in it which would be some payback on TB’s investment
Last season in the PL fixture at Villa we started with four former Albion scholars: Dunk, Hinshelwood, March and Ferguson.Fingers crossed. 5 or 6 from any academy would be miraculous.
Would love to know why Peupion, Turns and Samuels are still here (rather than being out on loan). I wonder if nobody wanted them?
They aren't going to benefit from U-21 football this season (having already spent time out on EFL loans) and I can't imagine they are going to get much (if any) first team experience.
